S. Grant Memorial 16 Highway," and to declare an emergency. 17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO: 18 Section 1. That section 5533.46 of the Revised Code be 20 enacted to read as follows: 21 Sec. 5533.46. THAT PORTION OF THE ROAD KNOWN AS UNITED 24 STATES ROUTE NUMBER FIFTY-TWO BEGINNING IN HAMILTON COUNTY AND 25 EXTENDING EASTWARD THROUGH A PORTION OF LAWRENCE COUNTY SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE "U. S. GRANT MEMORIAL HIGHWAY." 27 THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL USE APPROPRIATE 29 DISCRETION WITH REGARD TO WHAT SIGNING TO POST UPON THE HIGHWAY 30 INDICATING ITS NAME. Section 2. This act is hereby declared to be an emergency 32 measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public 33 peace, health, and safety. The reason for such necessity is that 34 April 27, 1997, will be the 175th anniversary of the birth of U. 35 S. Grant at Point Pleasant, Ohio, which is traversed by U. S. 36 Route 52, and that it is desirable to designate the highway as 37 the U. S. Grant Memorial Highway in recognition of that anniversary. Therefore, this act shall go into immediate effect. 38
