No. 110 5 1997-1998 6 SENATORS BLESSING-GARDNER-LATTA-FINAN-WHITE- 8 REPRESENTATIVES LUEBBERS-TERWILLEGER-GARCIA-KRUPINSKI- 9 SCHULER-BRITTON-VESPER-PRENTISS-MALLORY-PATTON- 10 WILLAMOWSKI-ALLEN-REID 11 13 A B I L L To enact sections 325.25 and 505.05 of the Revised 15 Code to authorize a county agency, common pleas 17 court, county court, or county-operated 19 municipal court, or a township office or 20 department, to recognize outstanding employee 21 performance. 22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO: 24 Section 1. That sections 325.25 and 505.05 of the Revised 26 Code be enacted to read as follows: 28 Sec. 325.25. UPON NOTIFYING THE BOARD OF COUNTY 30 COMMISSIONERS, ANY APPOINTING AUTHORITY OF A COUNTY OFFICE, 31 DEPARTMENT, COMMISSION, BOARD, OR BODY, OR OF A COMMON PLEAS 32 COURT, COUNTY COURT, OR COUNTY-OPERATED MUNICIPAL COURT AS 33 DEFINED IN SECTION 1901.03 OF THE REVISED CODE, MAY ESTABLISH A 34 PROGRAM TO RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE. THE 35 PROGRAM MAY INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, CASH AWARDS, 36 ADDITIONAL PAID LEAVE, OR OTHER ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AS THE 37 APPOINTING AUTHORITY CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE, SO LONG AS THE COSTS 38 OF THE PROGRAM DO NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION 39 FIXED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE OFFICE, 40 DEPARTMENT, COMMISSION, BOARD, OR BODY OR FOR THE COMMON PLEAS 41 COURT, COUNTY COURT, OR COUNTY-OPERATED MUNICIPAL COURT. 42 Sec. 505.05. UPON NOTIFYING THE BOARD OF TOWNSHIP 44 2 TRUSTEES, ANY APPOINTING AUTHORITY OF A TOWNSHIP OFFICE OR 45 DEPARTMENT MAY ESTABLISH A PROGRAM TO RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING 46 EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE. THE PROGRAM MAY INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT 47 LIMITED TO, CASH AWARDS, ADDITIONAL PAID LEAVE, OR OTHER ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AS THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY CONSIDERS 48 APPROPRIATE, SO LONG AS THE COSTS OF THE PROGRAM DO NOT EXCEED 49 THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION FIXED BY THE BOARD OF TOWNSHIP 50 TRUSTEES FOR THE OFFICE OR DEPARTMENT.
