BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO: 13 Section 1. That section 1901.08 of the Revised Code be 15 amended to read as follows: 16 Sec. 1901.08. The number of, and the time for election of, 25 judges of the following municipal courts and the beginning of 26 their terms shall be as follows: 27 In the Akron municipal court, two full-time judges shall be 29 elected in 1951, two full-time judges shall be elected in 1953, 30 one full-time judge shall be elected in 1967, and one full-time 31 judge shall be elected in 1975. 32 In the Alliance municipal court, one full-time judge shall 34 be elected in 1953. 35 In the Ashland municipal court, one full-time judge shall 37 be elected in 1951. 38 In the Ashtabula municipal court, one full-time judge shall 40 be elected in 1953. 41 In the Athens county municipal court, one full-time judge 43 shall be elected in 1967. 44 In the Auglaize county municipal court, one full-time judge 46 shall be elected in 1975. 47 In the Avon Lake municipal court, one part-time judge shall 49 be elected in 1957. 50 In the Barberton municipal court, one full-time judge shall 52 2 be elected in 1969, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 53 1971. 54 In the Bedford municipal court, one full-time judge shall 56 be elected in 1975, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 57 1979. 58 In the Bellefontaine municipal court, one full-time judge 60 shall be elected in 1993. 61 In the Bellevue municipal court, one part-time judge shall 63 be elected in 1951. 64 In the Berea municipal court, one part-time judge shall be 66 elected in 1957, term to commence on the first day of January 67 next after election, and one part-time judge shall be elected in 69 1981, term to commence on the second day of January next after 70 election. The part-time judge elected in 1987 whose term 71 commenced on January 1, 1988, shall serve until December 31, 1993, and the office of that judge is abolished, effective on the 72 earlier of December 31, 1993, or the date on which that judge 73 resigns, retires, or otherwise vacates judicial office. 74 In the Bowling Green municipal court, one full-time judge 76 shall be elected in 1983. 77 In the Bryan municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 79 elected in 1965. 80 In the Cambridge municipal court, one full-time judge shall 82 be elected in 1951. 83 In the Campbell municipal court, one part-time judge shall 85 be elected in 1963. 86 In the Canton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 88 elected in 1951, one full-time judge shall be elected in 1969, 89 and two full-time judges shall be elected in 1977. 90 In the Celina municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 92 elected in 1957. 93 In the Champaign county municipal court, one part-time 95 judge shall be elected in 1983. 96 In the Chardon municipal court, one part-time judge shall 98 3 be elected in 1963. 99 In the Chillicothe municipal court, one full-time judge 101 shall be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be 102 elected in 1977. 103 In the Circleville municipal court, one full-time judge 105 shall be elected in 1953. 106 In the Clark county municipal court, one full-time judge 108 shall be elected in 1989, and two full-time judges shall be 109 elected in 1991. The full-time judges of the Springfield 110 municipal court who were elected in 1983 and 1985 shall serve as 111 the judges of the Clark county municipal court from January 1, 112 1988, until the end of their respective terms. 113 In the Clermont county municipal court, two full-time 115 judges shall be elected in 1991, AND ONE FULL-TIME JUDGE SHALL BE 116 ELECTED IN 1999. 117 In the Cleveland municipal court, six full-time judges 119 shall be elected in 1975, three full-time judges shall be elected 120 in 1953, and four full-time judges shall be elected in 1955. 121 In the Cleveland Heights municipal court, one full-time 123 judge shall be elected in 1957. 124 In the Clinton county municipal court, one full-time judge 126 shall be elected in 1997. The full-time judge of the Wilmington 127 municipal court who was elected in 1991 shall serve as the judge 128 of the Clinton county municipal court from July 1, 1992, until 129 the end of that judge's term on December 31, 1997. 130 In the Conneaut municipal court, one full-time judge shall 132 be elected in 1953. 133 In the Coshocton municipal court, one full-time judge shall 135 be elected in 1951. 136 In the Crawford county municipal court, one full-time judge 138 shall be elected in 1977. 139 In the Cuyahoga Falls municipal court, one full-time judge 141 shall be elected in 1953, and one full-time judge shall be 142 elected in 1967. 143 4 In the Dayton municipal court, three full-time judges shall 145 be elected in 1987, their terms to commence on successive days 146 beginning on the first day of January next after their election, 147 and two full-time judges shall be elected in 1955, their terms to 148 commence on successive days beginning on the second day of 149 January next after their election. 150 In the Defiance municipal court, one full-time judge shall 152 be elected in 1957. 153 In the Delaware municipal court, one full-time judge shall 155 be elected in 1953. 156 In the East Cleveland municipal court, one full-time judge 158 shall be elected in 1957. 159 In the East Liverpool municipal court, one full-time judge 161 shall be elected in 1953. 162 In the Eaton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 164 elected in 1973. 165 In the Elyria municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 167 elected in 1955, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 168 1973. 169 In the Euclid municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 171 elected in 1951. 172 In the Fairborn municipal court, one full-time judge shall 174 be elected in 1977. 175 In the Fairfield municipal court, one full-time judge shall 177 be elected in 1989. 178 In the Findlay municipal court, one full-time judge shall 180 be elected in 1955, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 181 1993. 182 In the Fostoria municipal court, one full-time judge shall 184 be elected in 1975. 185 In the Franklin municipal court, one part-time judge shall 187 be elected in 1951. 188 In the Franklin county municipal court, two full-time 190 judges shall be elected in 1969, three full-time judges shall be 191 5 elected in 1971, seven full-time judges shall be elected in 1967, 192 one full-time judge shall be elected in 1975, one full-time judge 194 shall be elected in 1991, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1997. 195 In the Fremont municipal court, one full-time judge shall 197 be elected in 1975. 198 In the Gallipolis municipal court, one full-time judge 200 shall be elected in 1981. 201 In the Garfield Heights municipal court, one full-time 203 judge shall be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be 204 elected in 1981. 205 In the Girard municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 207 elected in 1963. 208 In the Hamilton municipal court, one full-time judge shall 210 be elected in 1953. 211 In the Hamilton county municipal court, five full-time 213 judges shall be elected in 1967, five full-time judges shall be 214 elected in 1971, two full-time judges shall be elected in 1981, 215 and two full-time judges shall be elected in 1983. All terms of 216 judges of the Hamilton county municipal court shall commence on 217 the first day of January next after their election, except that 218 the terms of the additional judges to be elected in 1981 shall 219 commence on January 2, 1982, and January 3, 1982, and that the 220 terms of the additional judges to be elected in 1983 shall 221 commence on January 4, 1984, and January 5, 1984. 222 In the Hardin county municipal court, one part-time judge 224 shall be elected in 1989. 225 In the Hillsboro municipal court, one part-time judge shall 227 be elected in 1957. 228 In the Hocking county municipal court, one full-time judge 230 shall be elected in 1977. 231 In the Huron municipal court, one part-time judge shall be 233 elected in 1967. 234 In the Ironton municipal court, one full-time judge shall 236 6 be elected in 1951. 237 In the Jackson county municipal court, one full-time judge 239 shall be elected in 2001. In the Painesville municipal court, one full-time judge 352 shall be elected in 1951. 353 In the Parma municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 355 elected in 1951, one full-time judge shall be elected in 1967, 356 and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1971. 357 In the Perrysburg municipal court, one full-time judge 359 shall be elected in 1977. 360 In the Portage county municipal court, two full-time judges 362 shall be elected in 1979, and one full-time judge shall be 363 elected in 1971. 364 In the Port Clinton municipal court, one full-time judge 366 shall be elected in 1953. The full-time judge of the Port 367 Clinton municipal court who is elected in 1989 shall serve as the 368 judge of the Ottawa county municipal court from February 4, 1994, 369 until the end of that judge's term. 370 In the Portsmouth municipal court, one full-time judge 372 shall be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be 373 elected in 1985. 374 In the Rocky River municipal court, one full-time judge 376 shall be elected in 1957, and one full-time judge shall be 377 elected in 1971. 378 9 In the Sandusky municipal court, one full-time judge shall 380 be elected in 1953. 381 In the Shaker Heights municipal court, one full-time judge 383 shall be elected in 1957. 384 In the Shelby municipal court, one part-time judge shall be 386 elected in 1957. 387 In the Sidney municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 389 elected in 1995. 390 In the South Euclid municipal court, one part-time judge 392 shall be elected in 1951. 393 In the Springfield municipal court, two full-time judges 395 shall be elected in 1985, and one full-time judge shall be 396 elected in 1983, all of whom shall serve as the judges of the 397 Springfield municipal court through December 31, 1987, and as the 398 judges of the Clark county municipal court from January 1, 1988, 399 until the end of their respective terms. 400 In the Steubenville municipal court, one full-time judge 402 shall be elected in 1953. 403 In the Struthers municipal court, one part-time judge shall 405 be elected in 1963. 406 In the Sylvania municipal court, one full-time judge shall 408 be elected in 1963. 409 In the Tiffin municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 411 elected in 1953. 412 In the Toledo municipal court, two full-time judges shall 414 be elected in 1971, four full-time judges shall be elected in 415 1975, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1973. 416 In the Upper Sandusky municipal court, one part-time judge 418 shall be elected in 1957. 419 In the Vandalia municipal court, one full-time judge shall 421 be elected in 1959. 422 In the Van Wert municipal court, one full-time judge shall 424 be elected in 1957. 425 In the Vermilion municipal court, one part-time judge shall 427 10 be elected in 1965. 428 In the Wadsworth municipal court, one full-time judge shall 430 be elected in 1981. 431 In the Warren municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 433 elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 434 1971. 435 In the Washington Court House municipal court, one 437 part-time judge shall be elected in 1951. 438 In the Wayne county municipal court, one full-time judge 440 shall be elected in 1975, and one full-time judge shall be 441 elected in 1979. 442 In the Willoughby municipal court, one full-time judge 444 shall be elected in 1951. 445 In the Wilmington municipal court, one full-time judge 447 shall be elected in 1991, who shall serve as the judge of the 448 Wilmington municipal court through June 30, 1992, and as the 449 judge of the Clinton county municipal court from July 1, 1992, 450 until the end of that judge's term on December 31, 1997. 451 In the Xenia municipal court, one full-time judge shall be 453 elected in 1977. 454 In the Youngstown municipal court, one full-time judge 456 shall be elected in 1951, and two full-time judges shall be 457 elected in 1953. 458 In the Zanesville municipal court, one full-time judge 460 shall be elected in 1953. 461 Section 2. That existing section 1901.08 of the Revised 463 Code is hereby repealed. 464 Section 3. This act is hereby declared to be an emergency 466 measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public 467 peace, health, and safety. The reason for such necessity is that 468 the Clermont County Municipal Court crucially needs an additional 469 judge as soon as practicable. Therefore, this act shall go into 470 immediate effect.
