Sec. 3313.601. The board of education of each school | 14 |

board of education, school, or employee

shall require a pupil to participate
in a period of | 18 |

provided for pursuant to this section. No
board of | 19 |
education
shall
prohibit a classroom teacher from
providing in
his | 20 |
the
teacher's classroom reasonable periods of
time for
programs or | 21 |
meditation uponactivities of a moral, philosophical, or patriotic | 22 |
theme.
No
pupil shall be
required to participate in such
programs | 23 |
or
meditationsactivities if they are contrary
to the religious | 24 |
convictions of the pupil or
histhe pupil's
parents or guardians. | 25 |
No board of education of a school district shall adopt any | 26 |
policy or rule
respecting or
promoting an establishment of | 27 |
religion or
prohibiting any pupil from the
free, individual, and | 28 |
voluntary
exercise or expression of the pupil's
religious beliefs | 29 |
in any
primary or secondary school. The board of education
may | 30 |
limit the
exercise or
expression of the pupil's religious beliefs | 31 |
as
described in this section to
lunch periods or other | 32 |
noninstructional
time periods when pupils are free to associate. | 33 |
