A BILL
To amend section 505.46 of the Revised Code to1
increase from $1,000 to $15,000 the amount a2
township can expend on a footbridge across rivers3
and streams to access public schools.4


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 505.46 of the Revised Code be amended5
to read as follows:6

       Sec. 505.46.  The board of township trustees may construct,7
rebuild, and repair footbridges across rivers and streams when8
necessary, to provide convenient means of access to the public9
schools of the township by pupils residing in the school district10
whereinin which a public schoolhouse is located. If a river or11
stream coincides with the boundary of two townships, either of the12
townships may construct, rebuild, or repair a footbridge across13
suchthat river or stream at its own expense and subject to14
section 505.47 of the Revised Code. In no case shall the cost of15
the construction, rebuilding, or repair of any footbridge exceed16
the sum of onefifteen thousand dollars.17

       Section 2. That existing section 505.46 of the Revised Code18
is hereby repealed.19
