To amend section 505.46 of the Revised Code to

increase from $1,000 to $15,000 the amount a

township can expend on a footbridge across rivers

and streams to access public schools.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That section 505.46 of the Revised Code be amended	5
to read as follows:	6

Sec. 505.46.  The board of township trustees may construct,	7
rebuild, and repair footbridges across rivers and streams when	8
necessary, to provide convenient means of access to the public	9
schools of the township by pupils residing in the school district	10
whereinin which a public schoolhouse is located. If a river or	11
stream coincides with the boundary of two townships, either of the	12
townships may construct, rebuild, or repair a footbridge across	13
suchthat river or stream at its own expense and subject to	14
section 505.47 of the Revised Code. In no case shall the cost of	15
the construction, rebuilding, or repair of any footbridge exceed	16
the sum of onefifteen thousand dollars.	17

Section 2. That existing section 505.46 of the Revised Code	18
is hereby repealed.	19
