A BILL
To enact sections 5533.241, 5533.69, 5533.70, 1
5533.71, 5533.72, and 5533.73 of the Revised Code 2
to designate Interstate Route 75 as the "Pearl 3
Harbor Memorial Highway" and to permit the 4
Director of Transportation to erect markers along 5
the highway indicating its name, and to name four 6
roads and a bridge in Butler County.7


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That sections 5533.241, 5533.69, 5533.70, 5533.71, 8
5533.72, and 5533.73 of the Revised Code be enacted to read as 9
follows:10

       Sec. 5533.241. (A) In addition to the designation in section 11
5533.24 of the Revised Code, the road known as interstate route 12
seventy-five, running in a southerly direction from the city of 13
Toledo in Lucas county, through the counties of Wood, Hancock, 14
Allen, Auglaize, Shelby, Miami, Montgomery, Warren, and Butler to 15
the city of Cincinnati in Hamilton county, also shall be known as 16
the "Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway."17

       (B) The director of transportation may erect suitable white 18
markers with blue lettering upon such highway. If the director 19
erects such markers, the markers shall do both of the following to 20
the greatest extent possible:21

       (1) Indicate the name of the highway;22

       (2) Be located near Toledo, Lima, Dayton, and Cincinnati.23

       (C) The department of transportation may accept private 24
contributions to pay all or part of the costs of manufacturing, 25
erecting, and maintaining the markers. Any private money received 26
by the department for the purposes of this section shall be 27
deposited in the state treasury to the credit of the state highway 28
operating fund or any other fund of the department as determined 29
by the director.30

       Sec. 5533.69.  The road known as state route number one 31
hundred twenty-six, commencing in the community of Venice in 32
Butler county and extending westward to the Indiana border, shall 33
be known as the "Governor William Bebb Bicentennial Roadway."34

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 35
along the highway indicating its name.36

       Sec. 5533.70.  The road known as state route number seven 37
hundred forty-four, commencing in the municipal corporation of 38
Somerville in Butler county and extending eastward to the 39
intersection of that road and state route number one hundred 40
twenty-two in that county, shall be known as the "Governor James 41
M. Cox Bicentennial Roadway."42

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 43
along the highway indicating its name.44

       Sec. 5533.71.  In addition to the designation in section 45
5533.14 of the Revised Code, the road known as state route number 46
four, commencing at the intersection of that road and High Street 47
in the municipal corporation of Hamilton in Butler county and 48
extending northeasterly to the intersection of that state route 49
and central avenue in the municipal corporation of Middletown in 50
that county, shall be known as the "Governor James E. Campbell 51
Bicentennial Roadway."52

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 53
along the highway indicating its name.54

       Sec. 5533.72.  The road known as United States route number 55
one hundred twenty-seven, commencing in the municipal corporation 56
of Seven Mile in Butler county and extending northward to the 57
intersection of that United States route and United States route 58
number thirty-five in the municipal corporation of Eaton in Preble 59
county, shall be known as the "Governor Andrew L. Harris 60
Bicentennial Roadway."61

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 62
along the highway indicating its name.63

       Sec. 5533.73.  The Maud-Hughes road bridge spanning Gregory 64
Creek in Butler county, located at mile twenty-three and 65
eighteen-hundredths of state route number one hundred twenty-nine, 66
shall be known as the "William R. Foster Bridge."67

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 68
upon the bridge, or the approaches thereto, indicating its name.69
