A BILL
To amend section 1901.08 of the Revised Code to 1
change the status of the judge of the Marysville 2
Municipal Court from part-time to full-time.3


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 1901.08 of the Revised Code be 4
amended to read as follows: 5

       Sec. 1901.08. The number of, and the time for election of,6
judges of the following municipal courts and the beginning of7
their terms shall be as follows:8

       In the Akron municipal court, two full-time judges shall be9
elected in 1951, two full-time judges shall be elected in 1953,10
one full-time judge shall be elected in 1967, and one full-time11
judge shall be elected in 1975.12

       In the Alliance municipal court, one full-time judge shall be13
elected in 1953.14

       In the Ashland municipal court, one full-time judge shall be15
elected in 1951.16

       In the Ashtabula municipal court, one full-time judge shall17
be elected in 1953.18

       In the Athens county municipal court, one full-time judge19
shall be elected in 1967.20

       In the Auglaize county municipal court, one full-time judge21
shall be elected in 1975.22

       In the Avon Lake municipal court, one part-time judge shall23
be elected in 1957.24

       In the Barberton municipal court, one full-time judge shall25
be elected in 1969, and one full-time judge shall be elected in26
1971.27

       In the Bedford municipal court, one full-time judge shall be28
elected in 1975, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1979.29

       In the Bellefontaine municipal court, one full-time judge30
shall be elected in 1993.31

       In the Bellevue municipal court, one part-time judge shall be32
elected in 1951.33

       In the Berea municipal court, one full-time judge shall be34
elected in 2005.35

       In the Bowling Green municipal court, one full-time judge36
shall be elected in 1983.37

       In the Brown county municipal court, one full-time judge38
shall be elected in 2005. Beginning February 9, 2003, the39
part-time judge of the Brown county county court that existed40
prior to that date whose term commenced on January 2, 2001, shall41
serve as the full-time judge of the Brown county municipal court42
until December 31, 2005.43

       In the Bryan municipal court, one full-time judge shall be44
elected in 1965.45

       In the Cambridge municipal court, one full-time judge shall46
be elected in 1951.47

       In the Campbell municipal court, one part-time judge shall be48
elected in 1963.49

       In the Canton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be50
elected in 1951, one full-time judge shall be elected in 1969, and51
two full-time judges shall be elected in 1977.52

       In the Celina municipal court, one full-time judge shall be53
elected in 1957.54

       In the Champaign county municipal court, one full-time judge55
shall be elected in 2001.56

       In the Chardon municipal court, one part-time judge shall be57
elected in 1963.58

       In the Chillicothe municipal court, one full-time judge shall59
be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in60
1977.61

       In the Circleville municipal court, one full-time judge shall62
be elected in 1953.63

       In the Clark county municipal court, one full-time judge64
shall be elected in 1989, and two full-time judges shall be65
elected in 1991. The full-time judges of the Springfield municipal 66
court who were elected in 1983 and 1985 shall serve as the judges 67
of the Clark county municipal court from January 1, 1988, until 68
the end of their respective terms.69

       In the Clermont county municipal court, two full-time judges70
shall be elected in 1991, and one full-time judge shall be elected71
in 1999.72

       In the Cleveland municipal court, six full-time judges shall73
be elected in 1975, three full-time judges shall be elected in74
1953, and four full-time judges shall be elected in 1955.75

       In the Cleveland Heights municipal court, one full-time judge76
shall be elected in 1957.77

       In the Clinton county municipal court, one full-time judge78
shall be elected in 1997. The full-time judge of the Wilmington79
municipal court who was elected in 1991 shall serve as the judge80
of the Clinton county municipal court from July 1, 1992, until the81
end of that judge's term on December 31, 1997.82

       In the Columbiana county municipal court, two full-time83
judges shall be elected in 2001.84

       In the Conneaut municipal court, one full-time judge shall be85
elected in 1953.86

       In the Coshocton municipal court, one full-time judge shall87
be elected in 1951.88

       In the Crawford county municipal court, one full-time judge89
shall be elected in 1977.90

       In the Cuyahoga Falls municipal court, one full-time judge91
shall be elected in 1953, and one full-time judge shall be elected92
in 1967.93

       In the Darke county municipal court, one full-time judge 94
shall be elected in 2005. Beginning January 1, 2005, the part-time 95
judge of the Darke county county court that existed prior to that 96
date whose term began on January 1, 2001, shall serve as the 97
full-time judge of the Darke county municipal court until December 98
31, 2005.99

       In the Dayton municipal court, three full-time judges shall100
be elected in 1987, their terms to commence on successive days101
beginning on the first day of January next after their election,102
and two full-time judges shall be elected in 1955, their terms to103
commence on successive days beginning on the second day of January104
next after their election.105

       In the Defiance municipal court, one full-time judge shall be106
elected in 1957.107

       In the Delaware municipal court, one full-time judge shall be108
elected in 1953.109

       In the East Cleveland municipal court, one full-time judge110
shall be elected in 1957.111

       In the East Liverpool municipal court, one full-time judge112
shall be elected in 1953.113

       In the Eaton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be114
elected in 1973.115

       In the Elyria municipal court, one full-time judge shall be116
elected in 1955, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1973.117

       In the Euclid municipal court, one full-time judge shall be118
elected in 1951.119

       In the Fairborn municipal court, one full-time judge shall be120
elected in 1977.121

       In the Fairfield county municipal court, one full-time judge122
shall be elected in 2003, and one full-time judge shall be elected123
in 2005.124

       In the Fairfield municipal court, one full-time judge shall125
be elected in 1989.126

       In the Findlay municipal court, one full-time judge shall be127
elected in 1955, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1993.128

       In the Fostoria municipal court, one full-time judge shall be129
elected in 1975.130

       In the Franklin municipal court, one part-time judge shall be131
elected in 1951.132

       In the Franklin county municipal court, two full-time judges133
shall be elected in 1969, three full-time judges shall be elected134
in 1971, seven full-time judges shall be elected in 1967, one135
full-time judge shall be elected in 1975, one full-time judge136
shall be elected in 1991, and one full-time judge shall be elected137
in 1997.138

       In the Fremont municipal court, one full-time judge shall be139
elected in 1975.140

       In the Gallipolis municipal court, one full-time judge shall141
be elected in 1981.142

       In the Garfield Heights municipal court, one full-time judge143
shall be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected144
in 1981.145

       In the Girard municipal court, one full-time judge shall be146
elected in 1963.147

       In the Hamilton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be148
elected in 1953.149

       In the Hamilton county municipal court, five full-time judges150
shall be elected in 1967, five full-time judges shall be elected151
in 1971, two full-time judges shall be elected in 1981, and two152
full-time judges shall be elected in 1983. All terms of judges of153
the Hamilton county municipal court shall commence on the first154
day of January next after their election, except that the terms of155
the additional judges to be elected in 1981 shall commence on156
January 2, 1982, and January 3, 1982, and that the terms of the157
additional judges to be elected in 1983 shall commence on January158
4, 1984, and January 5, 1984.159

       In the Hardin county municipal court, one part-time judge160
shall be elected in 1989.161

       In the Hillsboro municipal court, one part-time judge shall162
be elected in 1957.163

       In the Hocking county municipal court, one full-time judge164
shall be elected in 1977.165

       In the Huron municipal court, one part-time judge shall be166
elected in 1967.167

       In the Ironton municipal court, one full-time judge shall be168
elected in 1951.169

       In the Jackson county municipal court, one full-time judge170
shall be elected in 2001. On and after March 31, 1997, the171
part-time judge of the Jackson county municipal court who was172
elected in 1995 shall serve as a full-time judge of the court173
until the end of that judge's term on December 31, 2001.174

       In the Kettering municipal court, one full-time judge shall175
be elected in 1971, and one full-time judge shall be elected in176
1975.177

       In the Lakewood municipal court, one full-time judge shall be178
elected in 1955.179

       In the Lancaster municipal court, one full-time judge shall180
be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in181
1979. Beginning January 2, 2000, the full-time judges of the182
Lancaster municipal court who were elected in 1997 and 1999 shall183
serve as judges of the Fairfield county municipal court until the184
end of those judges' terms.185

       In the Lawrence county municipal court, one part-time judge186
shall be elected in 1981.187

       In the Lebanon municipal court, one part-time judge shall be188
elected in 1955.189

       In the Licking county municipal court, one full-time judge190
shall be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected191
in 1971.192

       In the Lima municipal court, one full-time judge shall be193
elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1967.194

       In the Lorain municipal court, one full-time judge shall be195
elected in 1953, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1973.196

       In the Lyndhurst municipal court, one part-time judge shall197
be elected in 1957.198

       In the Madison county municipal court, one full-time judge199
shall be elected in 1981.200

       In the Mansfield municipal court, one full-time judge shall201
be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in202
1969.203

       In the Marietta municipal court, one full-time judge shall be204
elected in 1957.205

       In the Marion municipal court, one full-time judge shall be206
elected in 1951.207

       In the Marysville municipal court, one part-timefull-time208
judge shall be elected in 19632011. On and after the effective 209
date of this amendment, the part-time judge of the Marysville 210
municipal court who was elected in 2005 shall serve as a full-time 211
judge of the court until the end of that judge's term on December 212
31, 2011.213

       In the Mason municipal court, one part-time judge shall be214
elected in 1965.215

       In the Massillon municipal court, one full-time judge shall216
be elected in 1953, and one full-time judge shall be elected in217
1971.218

       In the Maumee municipal court, one full-time judge shall be219
elected in 1963.220

       In the Medina municipal court, one full-time judge shall be221
elected in 1957.222

       In the Mentor municipal court, one full-time judge shall be223
elected in 1971.224

       In the Miami county municipal court, one full-time judge225
shall be elected in 1975, and one full-time judge shall be elected226
in 1979.227

       In the Miamisburg municipal court, one part-time judge shall228
be elected in 1951.229

       In the Middletown municipal court, one full-time judge shall230
be elected in 1953.231

       In the Morrow county municipal court, one full-time judge232
shall be elected in 2005. Beginning January 1, 2003, the part-time233
judge of the Morrow county county court that existed prior to that234
date shall serve as the full-time judge of the Morrow county235
municipal court until December 31, 2005.236

       In the Mount Vernon municipal court, one full-time judge237
shall be elected in 1951.238

       In the Napoleon municipal court, one full-time judge shall be239
elected in 2005.240

       In the New Philadelphia municipal court, one full-time judge241
shall be elected in 1975.242

       In the Newton Falls municipal court, one full-time judge243
shall be elected in 1963.244

       In the Niles municipal court, one full-time judge shall be245
elected in 1951.246

       In the Norwalk municipal court, one full-time judge shall be247
elected in 1975.248

       In the Oakwood municipal court, one part-time judge shall be249
elected in 1953.250

       In the Oberlin municipal court, one full-time judge shall be251
elected in 1989.252

       In the Oregon municipal court, one full-time judge shall be253
elected in 1963.254

       In the Ottawa county municipal court, one full-time judge255
shall be elected in 1995, and the full-time judge of the Port256
Clinton municipal court who is elected in 1989 shall serve as the257
judge of the Ottawa county municipal court from February 4, 1994,258
until the end of that judge's term.259

       In the Painesville municipal court, one full-time judge shall260
be elected in 1951.261

       In the Parma municipal court, one full-time judge shall be262
elected in 1951, one full-time judge shall be elected in 1967, and263
one full-time judge shall be elected in 1971.264

       In the Perrysburg municipal court, one full-time judge shall265
be elected in 1977.266

       In the Portage county municipal court, two full-time judges267
shall be elected in 1979, and one full-time judge shall be elected268
in 1971.269

       In the Port Clinton municipal court, one full-time judge270
shall be elected in 1953. The full-time judge of the Port Clinton271
municipal court who is elected in 1989 shall serve as the judge of272
the Ottawa county municipal court from February 4, 1994, until the273
end of that judge's term.274

       In the Portsmouth municipal court, one full-time judge shall275
be elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in276
1985.277

       In the Rocky River municipal court, one full-time judge shall278
be elected in 1957, and one full-time judge shall be elected in279
1971.280

       In the Sandusky municipal court, one full-time judge shall be281
elected in 1953.282

       In the Shaker Heights municipal court, one full-time judge283
shall be elected in 1957.284

       In the Shelby municipal court, one part-time judge shall be285
elected in 1957.286

       In the Sidney municipal court, one full-time judge shall be287
elected in 1995.288

       In the South Euclid municipal court, one full-time judge289
shall be elected in 1999. The part-time judge elected in 1993,290
whose term commenced on January 1, 1994, shall serve until291
December 31, 1999, and the office of that judge is abolished on292
January 1, 2000.293

       In the Springfield municipal court, two full-time judges294
shall be elected in 1985, and one full-time judge shall be elected295
in 1983, all of whom shall serve as the judges of the Springfield296
municipal court through December 31, 1987, and as the judges of297
the Clark county municipal court from January 1, 1988, until the298
end of their respective terms.299

       In the Steubenville municipal court, one full-time judge300
shall be elected in 1953.301

       In the Struthers municipal court, one part-time judge shall302
be elected in 1963.303

       In the Sylvania municipal court, one full-time judge shall be304
elected in 1963.305

       In the Tiffin municipal court, one full-time judge shall be306
elected in 1953.307

       In the Toledo municipal court, two full-time judges shall be308
elected in 1971, four full-time judges shall be elected in 1975,309
and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1973.310

       In the Upper Sandusky municipal court, one part-time judge311
shall be elected in 1957.312

       In the Vandalia municipal court, one full-time judge shall be313
elected in 1959.314

       In the Van Wert municipal court, one full-time judge shall be315
elected in 1957.316

       In the Vermilion municipal court, one part-time judge shall317
be elected in 1965.318

       In the Wadsworth municipal court, one full-time judge shall319
be elected in 1981.320

       In the Warren municipal court, one full-time judge shall be321
elected in 1951, and one full-time judge shall be elected in 1971.322

       In the Washington Court House municipal court, one full-time323
judge shall be elected in 1999. The part-time judge elected in324
1993, whose term commenced on January 1, 1994, shall serve until325
December 31, 1999, and the office of that judge is abolished on326
January 1, 2000.327

       In the Wayne county municipal court, one full-time judge328
shall be elected in 1975, and one full-time judge shall be elected329
in 1979.330

       In the Willoughby municipal court, one full-time judge shall331
be elected in 1951.332

       In the Wilmington municipal court, one full-time judge shall333
be elected in 1991, who shall serve as the judge of the Wilmington334
municipal court through June 30, 1992, and as the judge of the335
Clinton county municipal court from July 1, 1992, until the end of336
that judge's term on December 31, 1997.337

       In the Xenia municipal court, one full-time judge shall be338
elected in 1977.339

       In the Youngstown municipal court, one full-time judge shall340
be elected in 1951, and two full-time judges shall be elected in341
1953.342

       In the Zanesville municipal court, one full-time judge shall343
be elected in 1953.344

       Section 2. That existing section 1901.08 of the Revised Code 345
is hereby repealed.346

       Section 3. On and after the effective date of this act, the 347
full-time judge of the Marysville Municipal Court, who prior to 348
the effective date of this act was the part-time judge of that 349
court, shall perform the duties of a full-time judge of a 350
municipal court, shall receive the salary specified in law for a 351
full-time judge of a municipal court, and shall be subject to any 352
restriction specified in law for a full-time judge of a municipal 353
court.354
