A BILL
To amend section 5533.09 of the Revised Code to 1
designate Interstate Routes 70 and 71 as the 2
"Purple Heart Trail."3


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 5533.09 of the Revised Code be 4
amended to read as follows:5

       Sec. 5533.09. (A)(1) That portion of the road known as 6
interstate route seventy-six, running in an easterly and westerly 7
direction, commencing at its intersection with interstate 8
seventy-one in Medina county and extending through the counties of 9
Summit and Portage to its intersection with interstate eighty in 10
Mahoning county, shall be known as "The Military Order of the 11
Purple Heart Memorial Highway."12

       (2) In addition to the respective designations in sections 13
5533.30, 5533.32, and 5533.33 of the Revised Code, the road known 14
as interstate route seventy, extending across Ohio from the West 15
Virginia border in Belmont county to the Indiana border in Preble 16
county, and the road known as interstate route seventy-one, 17
extending across Ohio from the Kentucky border in Hamilton county 18
to its northernmost terminus in Cuyahoga county, both shall be 19
known as the "Purple Heart Trail."20

        (B) The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 21
along theeach highway indicating its name.22

       Section 2. That existing section 5533.09 of the Revised Code 23
is hereby repealed.24
