A BILL

To amend section 2151.99 of the Revised Code to 1
increase the penalty for a failure to report abuse 2
or neglect of a child from a misdemeanor of the 3
fourth degree to a misdemeanor of the first 4
degree. 5

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 2151.99 of the Revised Code be 6
amended to read as follows: 7

       Sec. 2151.99. (A) Whoever violates division (D)(2) or (3) of 8
section 2151.313 or division ~~(A)(1) or~~ (H)(2) of section 2151.421 9
of the Revised Code is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth 10
degree. 11

       (B) Whoever violates division (D)(1) of section 2151.313 of 12
the Revised Code is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. 13

       (C) Whoever violates division (A)(1) of section 2151.421 of 14
the Revised Code is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. 15

       Section 2. That existing section 2151.99 of the Revised Code 16
is hereby repealed. 17

Section 1. That section 2151.99 of the Revised Code be	6
amended to read as follows:	7

the Revised Code is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.	15

Section 2. That existing section 2151.99 of the Revised Code	16
is hereby repealed.	17
