To enact section 4503.761 of the Revised Code to 1
create "One Nation Under God" license plates. 2

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 4503.761 of the Revised Code be 3
enacted to read as follows: 4

       Sec. 4503.761. (A) The owner or lessee of any passenger car, 5
noncommercial motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, or vehicle of a 6
class approved by the registrar of motor vehicles may apply to the 7
registrar for the registration of the vehicle and issuance of "one 8
nation under God" license plates. The request for "one nation 9
under God" license plates may be combined with a request for a 10
special reserved license plate under section 4503.40 or 4503.42 of 11
the Revised Code. Upon receipt of the completed application and 12
compliance with division (B) of this section, the registrar shall 13
issue to the applicant appropriate vehicle registration and a set 14
of "one nation under God" license plates and a validation sticker, 15
or a validation sticker alone when required by section 4503.191 of 16
the Revised Code. 17

       In addition to the letters and numbers ordinarily inscribed 18
thereon, "one nation under God" license plates shall bear the 19
American flag and the words "one nation under God." The bureau of 20
motor vehicles shall design "one nation under God" license plates, 21
and they shall bear county identification stickers that identify 22
the county of registration by name or number. 23

       (B) "One nation under God" license plates and validation 24
stickers shall be issued upon payment of the regular license tax 25
as prescribed under section 4503.04 of the Revised Code, any 26
applicable motor vehicle tax levied under Chapter 4504. of the 27
Revised Code, any applicable additional fee prescribed by section 28
4503.40 or 4503.42 of the Revised Code, and a fee not to exceed 29
ten dollars for the purpose of compensating the bureau for 30
additional services required in the issuing of the license plates, 31
and compliance with all other applicable laws relating to the 32
registration of motor vehicles. 33

       (C) The registrar shall deposit the fee not exceeding ten 34
dollars specified in division (B) of this section into the state 35
treasury to the credit of the state bureau of motor vehicles fund 36
created in section 4501.25 of the Revised Code. 37
