To direct the General Assembly's deliberations to | 1 |
reform the state's public education systems in a | 2 |
manner that promotes educational opportunities and | 3 |
economic prosperity for all Ohioans. | 4 |
Section 1. In recognition of the critical importance to the | 5 |
well being of all Ohio's citizens and economic development of | 6 |
quality public education systems from pre-kindergarten through | 7 |
post-doctoral research, the General Assembly shall conduct | 8 |
deliberations on measures that promote financial stability, | 9 |
enhance quality, and provide accountability in Ohio's public | 10 |
education systems. In conducting its deliberations, the General | 11 |
Assembly may consider any of the following: | 12 |
(A) Adopting stable, adequate, fair, and predictable funding | 13 |
mechanisms for all Ohio public education systems; | 14 |
(B) Establishing a system of transparency and accountability | 15 |
for community schools; | 16 |
(C) Examining methods by which to reduce the reliance upon | 17 |
and frequency of property tax levies to fund educational purposes; | 18 |
(D) Other matters the General Assembly considers relevant to | 19 |
the enhancement of the State's public education system. | 20 |
