| To amend section 122.12 of the Revised Code to | 1 |
| include certain Olympic-style boxing competitions | 2 |
| as sporting events for which state grants may be | 3 |
| awarded to a county or municipal corporation. | 4 |
| Section 1. That section 122.12 of the Revised Code be amended | 5 |
| to read as follows: | 6 |
| Sec. 122.12. As used in this section and in section 122.121 | 7 |
| of the Revised Code: | 8 |
| (A) "Endorsing county" means a county that contains a site | 9 |
| selected by a site selection organization for one or more games. | 10 |
| (B) "Endorsing municipality" means a municipal corporation | 11 |
| that contains a site selected by a site selection organization for | 12 |
| one or more games. | 13 |
| (C) "Game support contract" means a joinder undertaking, | 14 |
| joinder agreement, or similar contract executed by an endorsing | 15 |
| municipality or endorsing county and a site selection | 16 |
| organization. | 17 |
| (D) "Game" means a national football league "super bowl," a | 18 |
| national collegiate athletic association championship game, the | 19 |
| national basketball association all-star game, the national | 20 |
| hockey league all-star game, the major league baseball all-star | 21 |
| game, a national collegiate athletic association bowl | 22 |

championship series game, a world cup soccer
game, the | 23 |
| national senior games, the golden gloves of America, inc., | 24 |
| national golden gloves tournament, the USA boxing association | 25 |
| national championships, the international boxing association world | 26 |
| cup or world championships, or the olympic games. | 27 |
| (E) "Joinder agreement" means an agreement entered into by an | 28 |
| endorsing municipality or endorsing county, or more than one | 29 |
| endorsing municipality or county acting collectively and a site | 30 |
| selection organization setting out representations and assurances | 31 |
| by each endorsing municipality or endorsing county in connection | 32 |
| with the selection of a site in this state for the location of a | 33 |
| game. | 34 |
| (F) "Joinder undertaking" means an agreement entered into by | 35 |
| an endorsing municipality or endorsing county, or more than one | 36 |
| endorsing municipality or county acting collectively and a site | 37 |
| selection organization that each endorsing municipality or | 38 |
| endorsing county will execute a joinder agreement in the event | 39 |
| that the site selection organization selects a site in this state | 40 |
| for a game. | 41 |
| (G) "Local organizing committee" means a nonprofit | 42 |
| corporation or its successor in interest that: | 43 |
| (1) Has been authorized by an endorsing municipality, | 44 |
| endorsing county, or more than one endorsing municipality or | 45 |
| county acting collectively to pursue an application and bid on the | 46 |
| applicant's behalf to a site selection organization for selection | 47 |
| as the site of one or more games; or | 48 |
| (2) With the authorization of an endorsing municipality, | 49 |
| endorsing county, or more than one endorsing municipality or | 50 |
| county acting collectively, has executed an agreement with a site | 51 |
| selection organization regarding a bid to host one or more games. | 52 |
| (H) "Site selection organization" means the national football | 53 |
| league, the national collegiate athletic association, the national | 54 |
| basketball association, the national hockey league, major league | 55 |
| baseball, the federation internationale de football association, | 56 |
| the international world games association, the United States | 57 |
| olympic committee, the national senior games association, golden | 58 |
| gloves of America, inc., the USA boxing association, the | 59 |
| international boxing association, or the national governing body | 60 |
| of a sport that is recognized as such by the United States | 61 |
| olympic committee. | 62 |
| Section 2. That existing section 122.12 of the Revised Code | 63 |
| is hereby repealed. | 64 |
