| To enact section 5.061 of the Revised Code to adopt | 1 |
| the Ohio Tartan as the official tartan of the | 2 |

| Section 1. That section 5.061 of the Revised Code be enacted | 4 |
| to read as follows: | 5 |
| Sec. 5.061. The Ohio tartan is hereby adopted as the official | 6 |
| tartan of the state. The tartan exhibits the following complete | 7 |
| pattern: six red, sixteen green, two azure, six blue, two azure, | 8 |
| eighteen gold, six blue, eighteen gold, two azure, six blue, two | 9 |
| azure, sixteen red, six white. The colors represent the following: | 10 |
| (A) Red is taken from the official flag of the state and | 11 |
| represents the official bird of the state, the cardinal. | 12 |
| (B) Green and gold are taken from the great seal of the state | 13 |
| and represent the state's leadership in agriculture. | 14 |
| (C) Azure is taken from the great seal of the state and | 15 |
| represents the eight individuals from the state who served as | 16 |
| president of the United States. | 17 |
| (D) Blue is taken from the official flag of the state and | 18 |
| represents the waters of the state, from the Ohio River to Lake | 19 |
| Erie. | 20 |
