To amend sections 5533.051 and 5533.774 and to enact 1

5533.961 of the Revised Code to designate a number 8
of memorial highways.9


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That sections 5533.051 and 5533.774 be amended and 10
sections 5533.052, 5533.104, 5533.221, 5533.254, 5533.301, 11
5533.321, 5533.322, 5533.356, 5533.377, 5533.378, 5533.379, 12
5533.461, 5533.624, 5533.625, 5533.626, 5533.627, 5533.628, 13
5533.629, 5533.645, 5533.646, 5533.688, 5533.752, 5533.768, 14
5533.769, 5533.831, 5533.832, 5533.901, 5533.902, and 5533.961 of 15
the Revised Code be enacted to read as follows:16

       Sec. 5533.051. In addition to the designations of the road 17
known as United States route twenty-three in section 5533.05 of 18
the Revised Code, the portion of that road running in a north and 19
south direction, commencing at the boundary of Franklin and 20
Delaware counties and extending to the municipal corporation of 21
Delaware, and also the portion of that road located in Scioto 22
county, from mile marker number three to mile marker number ten,23
shall be known as the "Branch Rickey Memorial Highway."24

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 25
along each designated portion of the highway indicating its name.26

       Sec. 5533.052.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 27
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 28
as United States route twenty-three, running in a northerly and 29
southerly direction, through the municipal corporation of Columbus 30
in Franklin county, between seventh avenue and Northwood avenue, 31
shall be known as the "Staff Sergeant Christopher L. Brown 32
Memorial Highway."33

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 34
along the highway indicating its name.35

       Sec. 5533.104.  In addition to the designation in section 36
5533.10 of the Revised Code, that portion of the road known as 37
United States route number fifty, commencing at the point where 38
the road that carries the designations of both that United States 39
route and United States route number thirty-five south of the 40
municipal corporation of Chillicothe diverges and proceeding in a 41
southeasterly direction to the intersection of United States route 42
fifty and state route number three hundred twenty-seven within 43
Ross county only, shall be known as the "Lance Cpl. Aaron Reed 44
Memorial Highway."45

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 46
along the highway indicating its name. 47

       Sec. 5533.221. That portion of the road known as state route 48
number one hundred four, running in a northerly and southerly 49
direction within Ross county only, between the intersection of 50
that state route and Williamsport pike in the north and the 51
intersection of that state route and Pennyroyal road in the south, 52
shall be known as the "David A. Gibson Memorial Highway."53

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 54
along the highway indicating its name.55

       Sec. 5533.254. That portion of the road known as state route 56
two hundred sixty-four located within Hamilton county, commencing 57
at the municipal corporation of Cleves and extending in an 58
easterly direction to the intersection of that route with South 59
road, shall be known as the "Sergeant David Kreuter Memorial 60
Highway."61

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 62
along the highway indicating its name. 63

       Sec. 5533.301.  In addition to the designations in sections 64
5533.09 and 5533.30 of the Revised Code, the road known as 65
interstate route number seventy, running in an easterly and 66
westerly direction within Belmont county between exit number two 67
hundred eight and exit number two hundred thirteen, also shall be 68
known as the "Staff Sgt. Jesse Ault Memorial Highway."69

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 70
along the highway indicating its name. 71

       Sec. 5533.321.  In addition to the respective designations in 72
sections 5533.09 and 5533.32 of the Revised Code and any other 73
name prescribed in the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of 74
the highway known as interstate route number seventy-one, 75
commencing at mile marker one hundred ninety-six and proceeding in 76
a northerly direction to mile marker two hundred one within Wayne 77
county only, shall be known as the "Army 1st Lieutenant John 78
Runkle Memorial Highway."79

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 80
along the highway indicating its name.81

       Sec. 5533.322.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 82
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 83
as interstate route number seventy-one, running in a northerly and 84
southerly direction, through the municipal corporation of Grove 85
City, within Jackson township, in Franklin county, between 86
Stringtown road and state route six hundred sixty-five, shall be 87
known as the "Master Sergeant Shawn T. Hannon Memorial Highway."88

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 89
along the highway indicating its name.90

       Sec. 5533.356. That portion of the road known as United 91
States route number two hundred fifty, commencing at the 92
intersection of that United States route and county road number 93
seven hundred fifty-eight and proceeding in a southerly direction 94
to the intersection of that United States route and township road 95
number eight hundred fifty-six, within Ashland county only, shall 96
be known as the "Sheriff's Lieutenant John P. Gisclon Memorial 97
Highway."98

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 99
along the highway indicating its name.100

       Sec. 5533.377.  That portion of the road known as state route 101
number thirty-nine, commencing at the intersection of that state 102
route and ridge avenue northeast within the municipal corporation 103
of New Philadelphia and proceeding in an easterly direction to the 104
intersection of that state route and tall timber road northeast, 105
within Tuscarawas county only, shall be known as the "Lance 106
Corporal Peter James Clore Memorial Highway."107

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 108
along the highway indicating its name.109

       Sec. 5533.378. That portion of the road known as state route 110
number one hundred seventy-two, commencing at the intersection of 111
that route and Jackson avenue and proceeding in an easterly 112
direction to the intersection of that route and Perry drive within 113
Stark county only, shall be known as the "U.S.M.C. Sgt. Daniel J. 114
Patron Memorial Highway."115

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 116
along the highway indicating its name.117

       Sec. 5533.379. That portion of the road known as state route 118
number seven hundred seventy-two, commencing at the boundary of 119
Pike county and Ross county and proceeding in a northerly 120
direction to the boundary of Chillicothe in Ross county, shall be 121
known as the "Staff Sergeant Joshua Gire Memorial Highway." 122

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 123
along the highway indicating its name. 124

       Sec. 5533.461.  In addition to the designation of the road 125
known as United States route number fifty-two in section 5533.46 126
of the Revised Code, that portion of United States route number 127
fifty-two located in Scioto county from mile marker number 128
twenty-six to mile marker number thirty-one, also shall be known 129
as the "U.S.M.C. LCpl Jonathan Etterling Memorial Highway."130

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 131
along the highway indicating its name.132

       Sec. 5533.624. In addition to the designation in section 133
5533.20 of the Revised Code, that portion of the road known as 134
state route number forty-one, commencing at the intersection of 135
that state route and state route number thirty-two and proceeding 136
in a northerly direction to the intersection of state route 137
forty-one and Shaker Run road in the village of Peebles in Adams 138
county only, shall be known as the "LCpl. Luke C. Scott Memorial 139
Highway."140

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 141
along the highway indicating its name.142

       Sec. 5533.625. That portion of the road known as United 143
States route number sixty-two, commencing at the intersection of 144
that United States route and county highway number 17D and 145
proceeding in a northerly direction to the intersection of that 146
United States route and state route number thirty-two in Brown 147
county only, shall be known as the "Specialist William Seth 148
Blevins Memorial Highway."149

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 150
along the highway indicating its name.151

       Sec. 5533.626.  That portion of the road known as state route 152
number forty-four, running in a northerly and southerly direction 153
and located within Marlboro township in Stark county only, shall 154
be known as the "First Lt. Ashley White-Stumpf Memorial Highway."155

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 156
along the highway indicating its name.157

       Sec. 5533.627.  That portion of the road known as state route 158
number twenty-one, commencing at the intersection of that route 159
and Arcadia street and proceeding in a southeasterly direction to 160
the intersection of that route and Butterbridge road in Stark 161
county only, shall be known as the "Sgt. Michael Barkey Memorial 162
Highway."163

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 164
along the highway indicating its name.165

       Sec. 5533.628.  That portion of the road known as state route 166
number six hundred nineteen, commencing at the boundary of Summit 167
and Stark counties and proceeding in an easterly direction to the 168
intersection of that route and Kaufman avenue in Lake township in 169
Stark county, shall be known as the "Captain Daniel Stiles 170
Memorial Highway."171

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 172
along the highway indicating its name.173

       Sec. 5533.629. That portion of the road known as state route 174
number four hundred sixteen, commencing at the southern boundary 175
of the municipal corporation of New Philadelphia and proceeding in 176
a southerly direction to the northern boundary of the municipal 177
corporation of Tuscarawas in Tuscarawas county only, shall be 178
known as the "Sgt. James L. Smith Memorial Highway."179

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 180
along the highway indicating its name.181

       Sec. 5533.645.  That portion of the road known as state route 182
number two hundred thirty-five, located within the municipal 183
corporation of Fairborn in Greene county only, shall be known as 184
the "Army Specialist Jesse Adam Snow memorial highway."185

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 186
along the highway indicating its name.187

       Sec. 5533.646. That portion of the road known as state route 188
number forty-seven, commencing at the intersection of that state 189
route and state route number forty-nine and proceeding in an 190
easterly direction to the intersection of state route forty-seven 191
and United States route number one hundred twenty-seven in Darke 192
county only, shall be known as the "Pfc. Douglas E. Dickey 193
Memorial Highway."194

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 195
along the highway indicating its name.196

       Sec. 5533.688. That portion of the road known as state route 197
number one hundred seventy-nine, commencing at the intersection of 198
that state route and College street within the municipal 199
corporation of Hayesville and proceeding in an easterly and then 200
southeasterly and then southerly direction to the intersection of 201
that state route and township road number two thousand six hundred 202
fifty, within Ashland county only, shall be known as the 203
"Specialist Damon G. Winkleman Memorial Highway."204

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 205
along the highway indicating its name. 206

       Sec. 5533.752. That portion of the road known as United 207
States route forty-two, running in a northeasterly direction 208
between the municipal corporations of Lebanon and Waynesville in 209
Warren county, shall be known as the "Sergeant Brian Dulle 210
Memorial Highway."211

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 212
along the highway indicating its name. 213

       Sec. 5533.768. That portion of the road known as United 214
States route sixty-two, located in Stark county, commencing at the 215
intersection of that route with state route ninety-three and 216
extending in a northeasterly direction to the intersection of that 217
route with Mt. Eaton street southwest, shall be known as the "U.S. 218
Army Cpl. Zachary Grass Memorial Highway."219

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 220
along the highway indicating its name.221

       Sec. 5533.769. That portion of the road known as state route 222
one hundred seventy-two, located in Stark county, commencing at 223
the intersection of that route with Woodlawn avenue and extending 224
in a westerly direction to the intersection of that route with 225
Saratoga avenue northwest, shall be known as the "Lt. Jason S. 226
Manse Memorial Highway."227

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 228
along the highway indicating its name.229

       Sec. 5533.774. (A)(1) That portion of the road known as state 230
route one hundred four, commencing at its intersection with United 231
States route twenty-three and extending to its intersection with 232
Lockbourne road, shall be known as the "Tuskegee Airmen Memorial 233
Highway."234

       (2) In addition to the designations in sections 5533.24 and 235
5533.241 of the Revised Code, that portion of the road known as 236
interstate route seventy-five, running throughout Ohio in a 237
northerly and southerly direction, from the Michigan border in 238
Lucas county, through the counties of Wood, Hancock, Allen, 239
Auglaize, Shelby, Miami, Montgomery, Warren, and Butler, to the 240
Kentucky border in Hamilton county, shall be known as the 241
"Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Trail."242

       (B) The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 243
alongupon the designated portion of each highway indicating its 244
name.245

       Sec. 5533.831.  That portion of state route fifty-two located 246
in southern Scioto county between mile marker number seventeen and 247
mile marker number nineteen shall be known as the "Boone Coleman 248
Memorial Highway."249

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 250
along the highway indicating its name.251

       Sec. 5533.832. That portion of the road known as state route 252
number thirteen, commencing at the intersection of that route with 253
Cassell road in Knox county and proceeding in a northerly 254
direction to the intersection of that route with Zolman road, 255
shall be known at the "Bill Burgett Highway."256

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 257
along the highway indicating its name. 258

       Sec. 5533.901.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 259
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 260
as state route three hundred fifteen, running in a northerly and 261
southerly direction, through the municipal corporation of Columbus 262
in Franklin county, between Lane avenue and King avenue, shall be 263
known as the "Captain Nicholas J. Rozanski Memorial Highway."264

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 265
along the highway indicating its name.266

       Sec. 5533.902.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 267
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 268
as state route three hundred fifteen, running in a northerly and 269
southerly direction, through the municipal corporation of Columbus 270
in Franklin county, between Ackerman road and West North Broadway, 271
shall be known as the "Sgt. First Class Jeffrey J. Rieck Memorial 272
Highway."273

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 274
along the highway indicating its name.275

       Sec. 5533.961.  That portion of the road known as state route 276
eighty-four, located in the municipal corporation of Mentor in 277
Lake county, commencing at the intersection of that route with 278
Broadmoor road and extending in a northeasterly direction to the 279
intersection of that route with Chillicothe road, shall be known 280
as the "Sgt. Mark T. Smykowski Memorial Highway."281

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 282
along the highway indicating its name.283

       Section 2. That existing sections 5533.051 and 5533.774 of 284
the Revised Code are hereby repealed.285
