A BILL
To enact sections 5.2283 and 5.2284 of the Revised 1
Code to designate May as "Melanoma and Skin Cancer 2
Detection and Prevention Month" and to designate 3
April 27 as "Emma 'Grandma' Gatewood Day."4


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That sections 5.2283 and 5.2284 of the Revised 5
Code be enacted to read as follows:6

       Sec. 5.2283. The month of May is designated as "Melanoma and 7
Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month."8



       Sec. 5.2284. The twenty-seventh day of April is designated as 10
"Emma 'Grandma' Gatewood Day," in honor of the legendary hiker who 11
was a founder of the buckeye trail, which was declared the 12
official hiking trail of the state on that day in 1967.13
