A BILL
To enact section 3350.15 of the Revised Code to 1
establish an academic campus of the Northeastern 2
Ohio Universities College of Medicine at Cleveland 3
State University.4


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1.  That section 3350.15 of the Revised Code be 5
enacted to read as follows:6

       Sec. 3350.15.  (A) Not later than one year after the 7
effective date of this section, the boards of trustees of the 8
northeastern Ohio universities college of medicine and Cleveland 9
state university, in consultation with the chancellor of the Ohio 10
board of regents, shall adopt a plan to establish an academic 11
campus of the northeastern Ohio universities college of medicine 12
on the campus of Cleveland state university. 13

       (B) The plan shall include, but need not be limited to, all 14
of the following:15

       (1) A requirement that students from Cleveland state 16
university enrolled in the northeastern Ohio universities college 17
of medicine in a special program created through a partnership 18
between the two institutions receive at least fifty per cent of 19
their academic and clinical training at the Cleveland state 20
university campus location;21

       (2) A funding plan detailing the costs for which each 22
institution is responsible;23

       (3) A plan of execution, including a timeline and deadline by 24
which the academic campus at Cleveland state university must be 25
established. 26

       (C) The boards of trustees shall submit a final copy of the 27
plan required under this section to the general assembly under 28
section 101.68 of the Revised Code upon its adoption by both 29
boards.30

       Section 2. It is the intent of the General Assembly that in 31
fiscal year 2012 and fiscal year 2013 a portion of the funds 32
allocated to Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine 33
from GRF appropriation item 235501, State Share of Instruction, 34
shall be used to support the medical instruction of 35 students at 35
Cleveland State University.36
