Between lines 147516 and 147517, insert:

"Section 761.10.  (A)  Any member of the 129th General Assembly may request the clerk of their respective chamber to reduce the member's base salary by five per cent for the remainder of that General Assembly.  For purposes of this division, a member's base salary is the salary amount specified in divisions (A)(1) and (3) of section 101.27 of the Revised Code, as increased by division (B) of that section, for the 129th General Assembly.

(B) The base salary of any member who is appointed to the 129th General Assembly after July 1, 2011, shall be $57,555 for the remainder of the term to which the member was appointed.

(C) The clerks of each chamber shall, on a quarterly basis, request the Director of Budget and Management to transfer all savings derived as a result of divisions (A) and (B) of this section to GRF appropriation item 600540, Second Harvest Food Banks, and those amounts transferred are hereby appropriated."

SYNOPSIS

Reduction in Legislators' Salaries

Section 761.10

Permits a member of the 129th General Assembly to request a 5% cut in the member's base salary for the remainder of that General Assembly.

States that the base salary of any member of the 129th General Assembly who is appointed after July 1, 2011, will be $57,555 for the remainder of that term.

Requires the clerks of the respective chambers to request the OBM Director to transfer any savings derived as a result of these salary reductions to GRF appropriation item 600540, Second Harvest Food Banks.
