To amend section 5533.636 and to enact sections 1
5533.053, 5533.255, 5533.311, 5533.464, 5533.511, 2
5533.641, 5533.679, 5533.781, 5533.782, 5533.783, 3
5533.812, 5534.03, 5534.04, 5534.07, 5534.08, 4
5534.09, 5534.10, 5534.11, 5534.12, 5534.13, 5
5534.14, 5534.40, 5534.41, and 5534.42 of the 6
Revised Code to designate a number of memorial 7
highways and bridges in honor of members of the 8
armed forces of the United States and first 9
responders.10


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       Section 1. That section 5533.636 be amended and sections 11
5533.053, 5533.255, 5533.311, 5533.464, 5533.511, 5533.641, 12
5533.679, 5533.781, 5533.782, 5533.783, 5533.812, 5534.03, 13
5534.04, 5534.07, 5534.08, 5534.09, 5534.10, 5534.11, 5534.12, 14
5534.13, 5534.14, 5534.40, 5534.41, and 5534.42 of the Revised 15
Code be enacted to read as follows:16

       Sec. 5533.053.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 17
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 18
as United States route twenty-three, running in a northerly and 19
southerly direction, within Pike county only, shall be known as 20
the "Captain Everett "Butch" Keaton Memorial Highway."21

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 22
along the highway indicating its name.23

       Sec. 5533.255. In addition to any other name prescribed in 24
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the road known as 25
United States route number forty, commencing at the intersection 26
of that route with North Medway-Carlisle road and proceeding in a 27
northeasterly direction to the intersection of that route and 28
Lammes lane in Clark county only, shall be known as the "Staff 29
Sergeant Wesley Williams Memorial Highway."30

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 31
along the highway indicating its name.32

       Sec. 5533.311.  That portion of the road known as state route 33
number three hundred nine, running in a northwesterly and 34
southeasterly direction, commencing at the intersection of that 35
road and Piquad road and extending to the intersection of that 36
road and Baty road in Allen county only, shall be known as the 37
"Captain Dennis Pintor Memorial Highway."38

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 39
along the highway indicating its name.40

       Sec. 5533.464.  That portion of the road known as state route 41
number three hundred six, located within the municipal corporation 42
of Kirtland only, shall be known as the "U.S.M.C. LCpl. Daniel G. 43
Zegarac Memorial Highway."44

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 45
along the highway indicating its name.46

       Sec. 5533.511.  In addition to the designation in section 47
5533.51 of the Revised Code, that portion of United States route 48
number thirty-six, commencing at the intersection of that route 49
and state route number eighty-three and proceeding in an easterly 50
direction to the intersection of that United States route and 51
state route number ninety-three within Coshocton county only, 52
shall be known as the "Chief Petty Officer Raymond Border Memorial 53
Highway."54

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 55
along the highway indicating its name.56

       Sec. 5533.636.  That portion of the road known as state route 57
number six hundred nineteen, located withincommencing at the 58
eastern edge of the municipal corporation of Hartville in Stark 59
county onlyand extending in a westerly direction to the 60
intersection of that road with state route number ninety-three in 61
Summit county, shall be known as the "Sgt. 1st Class Daniel B. 62
Crabtree Memorial Road."63

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 64
along the highway indicating its name.65

       Sec. 5533.641.  That portion of the road known as state route 66
sixty-five, running in a northeasterly and southwesterly direction 67
in Wood County between the intersection of that route with 68
Rockledge drive and the intersection of that route with Bates 69
road, shall be known as the "Staff Sergeant Bradley C. Hart 70
Memorial Roadway."71

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 72
along the roadway indicating its name.73

       Sec. 5533.679.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 74
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the road known as 75
interstate route number seventy, running in an easterly and 76
westerly direction within Clark county between mile marker number 77
fifty-one and mile marker number fifty-three, shall be known as 78
the "Trooper Charles V. Vogel, Jr. Memorial Highway."79

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 80
along the highway indicating its name.81

       Sec. 5533.781. The bridge spanning the mosquito creek, 82
located within the municipal corporation of Niles in Trumbull 83
county and being part of the highway known as state route number 84
forty-six and state route number one hundred sixty-nine, and 85
having a scheduled completion date of approximately November of 86
the year 2013, shall be known as the "Persian Gulf Veterans 87
Bridge."88

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 89
upon the bridge or its approaches indicating its name.90

       Sec. 5533.782. The bridge spanning the Mahoning river, 91
located within the municipal corporation of Niles in Trumbull 92
county and being part of the highway known as state route number 93
forty-six, commencing at the intersection of that state route and 94
the road known as west state street southeast to the west of that 95
state route and as east state street southeast to the east of that 96
state route and proceeding in a southerly direction to the 97
intersection of that state route and the road known as west first 98
street to the west of that state route and as east first street to 99
the east of that state route, shall be known as the "Iraq and 100
Afghanistan Veterans Bridge."101

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 102
upon the bridge or its approaches indicating its name. 103

       Sec. 5533.783. The road known as United States route number 104
twenty, commencing at the eastern-most boundary of the municipal 105
corporation of Ashtabula and extending in a northeasterly 106
direction to the western-most boundary of the municipal 107
corporation of North Kingsville, shall be known as the "World War 108
I Veterans Highway."109

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 110
upon said highway indicating its name.111

       Sec. 5533.812.  (A) The following portions of state route 112
number forty-three and state route number one hundred sixty-four 113
within Jefferson county only shall be known as the "Veterans 114
Memorial Highway":115

       (1) For state route forty-three, the portion commencing at 116
the southern boundary of the municipal corporation of Amsterdam 117
and proceeding in a northerly direction within Amsterdam past the 118
location where state route forty-three begins also to carry the 119
designation state route number one hundred sixty-four, and ending 120
at the location where state route forty-three diverges in a 121
northwesterly direction from state route one hundred sixty-four;122

       (2) For state route one hundred sixty-four, the portion 123
commencing within the municipal corporation of Amsterdam at the 124
location where state route one hundred sixty-four begins also to 125
carry the designation state route forty-three, and proceeding in a 126
northerly direction to the southern boundary of the municipal 127
corporation of Bergholz.128

       (B) The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 129
along the designated portion of each highway indicating its name.130

       Sec. 5534.03.  In addition to the designation of the road 131
known as state route number one hundred twenty-four in section 132
5533.15 of the Revised Code, that portion of the road that carries 133
the designations of both that state route and state route number 134
thirty-two, commencing at the intersection of that road and state 135
route number two hundred twenty within Pike county and proceeding 136
in an easterly direction to the boundary of Pike county and 137
Jackson county, shall be known as the "U.S. Army Specialist Justin 138
Helton Memorial Highway."139

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 140
along the highway indicating its name.141

       Sec. 5534.04. That portion of the road known as interstate 142
route seventy-six, commencing at the intersection of that road and 143
interstate route eighty and proceeding in a southeasterly 144
direction to the intersection of that road and state route eleven 145
in Mahoning county, shall be known as the "Marine Sergeant James 146
Prommersberger and Army Second Lieutenant Charles W. Brown 147
Memorial Highway."148

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 149
along the highway indicating its name.150

       Sec. 5534.07.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 151
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the road known as 152
interstate route number seventy, commencing at the interchange of 153
that interstate route and United States route number forty-two 154
within Madison county and proceeding in an easterly direction to 155
the interchange of that interstate route and interstate route 156
number two hundred seventy within Franklin county, shall be known 157
as the "LCpl Josh McDaniels Memorial Highway."158

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 159
along the highway indicating its name.160

       Sec. 5534.08.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 161
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 162
as interstate route number seventy-one, commencing at the location 163
where that interstate highway passes over interstate route number 164
four hundred eighty and proceeding in a northerly direction to the 165
interchange of interstate highway seventy-one and west one hundred 166
fiftieth street, within the municipal corporation of Cleveland 167
only, shall be known as the "Specialist Angel L. Lopez Memorial 168
Highway."169

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 170
along the highway indicating its name.171

       Sec. 5534.09.  That portion of the road known as state route 172
number one hundred forty-seven, running in a northeasterly and 173
southwesterly direction in Noble county only, shall be known as 174
the "Navy Diver 1st Class James E. Reyher Memorial Highway."175

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 176
along the highway indicating its name.177

       Sec. 5534.10. That portion of the road known as state route 178
number seven, running in a northerly and southerly direction from 179
mile marker thirty-two to mile marker twenty-eight in Jefferson 180
county, shall be known as the "Cpl. James E. Blevins Memorial 181
Highway."182

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 183
along the highway indicating its name.184

       Sec. 5534.11. That portion of the road known as state route 185
three hundred nine, running in an easterly and westerly direction, 186
commencing at the intersection of that road and south Phillips 187
road and extending to the intersection of that road and south 188
Pevee road in Allen county only, shall be known as the "Army Cpl. 189
Nathan B. Carse Memorial Highway."190

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 191
along the highway indicating its name.192

       Sec. 5534.12. That portion of state route two hundred one, 193
running in a northeasterly and southwesterly direction from the 194
intersection of that route with Chambersburg road and the 195
intersection of that route with Taylorsville road in the municipal 196
corporation of Huber Heights, shall be known as the "U.S.M.C. 197
Lance Corporal Dustin R. Fitzgerald "Dusty" Memorial Highway."198

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 199
along the highway indicating its name." 200

       Sec. 5534.13. That portion of state route two hundred two, 201
running in a northerly and southerly direction from the 202
intersection of that route and Chambersburg road to the 203
intersection of that route and Taylorsville road in the municipal 204
corporation of Huber Heights, shall be known as the "U.S. Army 205
Private First Class James P. White, Jr. "J.P." Memorial Highway."206

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 207
along the highway indicating its name.208

       Sec. 5534.14. In addition to any other name prescribed in the 209
Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the road known as 210
United States interstate route number seventy-one, commencing at 211
the interchange of that interstate route and United States route 212
number sixty-two and proceeding in a northerly direction to the 213
interchange of that interstate route and state route number six 214
hundred sixty-five, within Franklin county only, shall be known as 215
the "Army Spc. Joseph "Joey" Riley Memorial Highway."216

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 217
along the highway indicating its name.218

       Sec. 5534.40. That portion of the road known as state route 219
number three hundred twenty-eight, commencing at the intersection 220
of that route and United States route number thirty-three and 221
proceeding in a southerly direction to the intersection of that 222
route and state route number fifty-six, within Hocking county 223
only, shall be known as the "Patrolman Carl "Shorty" Thrush 224
Memorial Highway."225

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 226
along the highway indicating its name.227

       Sec. 5534.41. In addition to any other name prescribed in the 228
Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the road known as 229
United States route number two hundred twenty-four, commencing at 230
the western edge of the municipal corporation of Barberton and 231
proceeding in an easterly direction to the interchange of that 232
route with interstate highway route number seventy-seven in Summit 233
county, shall be known as the "Officer Justin Winebrenner Memorial 234
Highway."235

        The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 236
along the highway indicating its name.237

       Sec. 5534.42.  In addition to any other name prescribed in 238
the Revised Code or otherwise, that portion of the highway known 239
as United States route number twenty-three, commencing at the 240
intersection of that route and Wyandot county road number 241
forty-two and proceeding in a southerly direction to the 242
intersection of that route and Wyandot county road number 243
forty-four, shall be known as the "OSHP Sgt. John F. Best Memorial 244
Highway."245

       The director of transportation may erect suitable markers 246
along the highway indicating its name.247

       Section 2.  That existing section 5533.636 of the Revised 248
Code is hereby repealed.249
