A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

To request that all of the members of the 128th 1
General Assembly of the state of Ohio support the 2
public option as part of national health care 3
reform. 4

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE SENATE CONCURRING):

       WHEREAS, Family health insurance premiums have risen 5
ninety-two per cent since 2000 while wages have stagnated; and 6

        WHEREAS, Nearly four hundred Ohioans lose their health 7
insurance every day; and 8

        WHEREAS, Eleven per cent of Ohioans are uninsured, with at 9
least sixty-four per cent of those uninsured individuals living in 10
families with one full-time worker; and 11

        WHEREAS, The public option will alleviate these problems by 12
giving Ohioans an option for affordable health insurance; now 13
therefore be it 14

        RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 128th General Assembly 15
of the state of Ohio hereby request that all of the members of the 16
128th General Assembly of the state of Ohio support the public 17
option as part of national health care reform; and be it further 18

        RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 19
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to every 20
member of the 128th General Assembly of the state of Ohio and to 21
the news media of Ohio. 22
