A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Moeller High School baseball team as the 1
2009 Division I State Champion. 2

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General 3
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Moeller High 4
School baseball team on winning the 2009 Division I State 5
Championship; and 6

       WHEREAS,  A remarkable group of young athletes, the members 7
of the Moeller High School baseball team have combined talent and 8
competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship 9
to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With 10
admirable dedication, the Crusaders have worked diligently toward 11
attaining ultimate proficiency in baseball, and as a result, they 12
defeated a tough Pickerington North team by the score of 5-2 to 13
win this year's Division I State Championship, their fifth state 14
title in school history, and they finished the season with an 15
impressive 24-5 record; and 16

       WHEREAS,  The Crusaders' achievements and leadership are a 17
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 18
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 19
coach. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the 20
ability of the coach to provide both guidance and inspiration, and 21
in leading his team to victory, Coach Tim Held has not only helped 22
each athlete to develop his talents to the fullest but also 23
instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, 24
and camaraderie; and 25

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important 26
role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely 27
pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their 28
outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience 29
the team members have gained through participation in sports will 30
greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; 31
therefore be it 32

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th 33
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the 34
Moeller High School baseball team on its tremendous 2009 season 35
and salute the players and coach as some of Ohio's finest 36
citizens; and be it further 37

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 38
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Moeller High School 39
baseball team. 40
