A RESOLUTION
Honoring Phil Nagle for setting a world record.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Phil Nagle on setting a world record by cycling through all forty-eight contiguous U.S. states; and

       WHEREAS,  Phil Nagle combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader and athlete. In order to raise funds for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, he undertook an 8,200-mile bicycle ride through the contiguous states in fifty-six days, setting a world record as the first person to complete this task. Congratulations are certainly in order; and

       WHEREAS,  A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Phil Nagle has striven to better the world around him, and through his efforts, he has gained the admiration of all who know him. We are certain that in the years to come, he will continue to display the same unflagging commitment for which he has become known; and

       WHEREAS,  Demonstrating a sincere concern for humanitarian causes, Phil Nagle has given back to the community far more than he has gleaned, and his selfless endeavors stand as the hallmark of responsible citizenship. He can rest assured that his accomplishment merits praise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Phil Nagle on his recent achievement and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Phil Nagle.
