WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Alan Francis as the 2009 World Horseshoe Champion; and |
WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Alan Francis has combined talent and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional competitor. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in horseshoes, and as a result, he won this year's World Championship, his fifteenth such title; and |
WHEREAS, Horseshoes is a popular social and recreational outlet for countless citizens, and it is through participation in such activities that individuals have the chance to demonstrate the values of preparation and perseverance. Alan Francis's accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on him but also on his family and his community; and |
WHEREAS, To his credit, Alan Francis has devoted a great deal of time to the perfection of his technique, and clearly, his diligent practice has paid handsome dividends. Considering his indomitable spirit, his unflagging determination, and his impressive expertise, it is no surprise that he is held in such high regard; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Alan Francis on winning the 2009 World Horseshoe Championship and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Alan Francis. |
