A RESOLUTION
In memory of Trooper Andrew C. Baldridge.1

WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General 2
Assembly of Ohio were deeply saddened to learn of the death of 3
Trooper Andrew C. Baldridge and extend our heartfelt condolences 4
to his family and friends; and5

WHEREAS,  A 2003 graduate of Carey High School, Andrew 6
Baldridge left an indelible impression on the people whose lives 7
he touched, and he will be remembered as a spirited individual who 8
contributed immeasurably to the world around him. A 2009 graduate 9
of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy, he was assigned to the 10
Bucyrus Post, and he was responding to a call on February 4, 2010, 11
when he was killed in the line of duty; and12

WHEREAS,  Giving generously of his energy and abilities, 13
Andrew Baldridge displayed exceptional concern and insight and was 14
tireless in his work to better the world around him. He always 15
used his talents to the benefit of those around him, and although 16
the void his death has created can never be filled, the legacy of 17
care and commitment he established will surely live on. His 18
absence will be keenly felt; and19

WHEREAS,  At a time when many people are content to take a 20
passive role in life, law enforcement officers often risk their 21
own safety, and in fact their lives, to ensure the well-being of 22
their fellow citizens. The devotion to duty that Andrew Baldridge 23
showed in all of his endeavors earned him the genuine respect and 24
gratitude of his colleagues and of the community he so capably 25
served. The world is a richer place for his having been in it, and 26
he will be truly missed; therefore be it27

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th 28
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, express a 29
profound sense of loss and sincere regret at the death of Trooper 30
Andrew C. Baldridge and, in so doing, pay tribute to the memory of 31
a truly unique individual; and be it further32

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Trooper 34
Andrew C. Baldridge.35
