| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 128th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Maddie Lawhorn on winning the 100-yard breaststroke event at the 2010 Division II State Swimming and Diving Championships; and |
| WHEREAS, A senior at Liberty Union High School, Maddie Lawhorn has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won the 100-yard breaststroke event at this year's Division II State Swimming and Diving Championships, setting a state record; and |
| WHEREAS, Maddie Lawhorn's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Maddie Lawhorn on an exemplary season.
