A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Grand Lake Stars volleyball team as the 1
2009 Ohio Valley Regional runner-up. 2

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 128th General 3
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Grand Lake Stars 4
volleyball team on winning second place at the 2009 Ohio Valley 5
Regional Championship; and 6

       WHEREAS,  A remarkable group of young athletes, the members 7
of the Grand Lake Stars volleyball team have combined talent and 8
competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship 9
to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With 10
admirable dedication, members Paige Hoyng, Lindsey Kahlig, Whitney 11
Schaefer, Katie Elking, Sam Thobe, Courtney Puthoff, Macy 12
Reigelsperger, Clara Wuebker, and Madison Chrisman have worked 13
diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in volleyball, 14
and as a result, they placed second out of 184 teams at this 15
year's Ohio Valley Regional Championship; and 16

       WHEREAS,  The achievements and leadership of the Grand Lake 17
Stars volleyball team are a justifiable source of pride and an 18
excellent reflection on the players, their families, their 19
community, and their coach. The success of any athletic endeavor 20
depends largely on the ability of the coach to provide both 21
guidance and inspiration, and in leading her team to victory, 22
Coach Diana Wuebker has not only helped each athlete to develop 23
her talents to the fullest but also instilled in each a valuable 24
sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and 25

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important 26
role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely 27
pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their 28
outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience 29
the team members have gained through participation in sports will 30
greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; 31
therefore be it 32

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 128th 33
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the 34
Grand Lake Stars volleyball team on its recent accomplishment and 35
salute the players and coach as some of Ohio's finest citizens; 36
and be it further 37

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 38
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Grand Lake Stars 39
volleyball team. 40
