A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Ohio Judicial Center on being rededicated in the name of the late Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Ohio Judicial Center for being renamed in honor of the late Thomas J. Moyer; and

       WHEREAS,  Recognition of this special event is a fitting tribute to the Ohio Judicial Center, for it has been invaluable to the residents of our state. Owned by the Ohio Supreme Court, this fine building houses both the court and its judicial offices, and being renamed for its former chief justice, Thomas Moyer, is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on his family, on the Court, and on the entire State of Ohio; and 

       WHEREAS,  Thomas Moyer was a remarkable individual, for he combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a respected leader in Ohio. Among his noteworthy endeavors, he served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio for more than twenty-three years, and during his tenure, he was instrumental in restoring and transforming the Ohio Departments Building into the Ohio Judicial Center. Through his unwavering dedication to excellence, he certainly distinguished himself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan, and his exceptional record of personal and professional achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; and

       WHEREAS,  Over the years, the Ohio Judicial Center has enhanced the quality of life in our society, and it has earned a prominent place in Ohio history. This well-known structure has come to represent law and justice in our state, and we are certain that in the years to come, it will continue to be a symbol of the tenets of Ohio's judicial system; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Ohio Judicial Center on its renaming and salute all those participating in this memorable event; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit duly authenticated copies of this Resolution to the Supreme Court of Ohio and to the family of the late Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer.
