A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Authorizing a joint convention of the Ohio General 1
Assembly for the purpose of receiving a message 2
from the Governor and calling for a committee to 3
wait upon the Governor in anticipation of his 4
State of the State Address.5


BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE SENATE CONCURRING):


       WHEREAS,  The members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, 6
by adoption of this Resolution, call for a joint session of the 7
legislature, to be held in the House Chambers of the Ohio 8
Statehouse, March 8, 2011 at 12:00 o'clock p.m.; and9

       WHEREAS, The Ohio General Assembly annually convenes a joint 10
session of the House and Senate for the purpose of receiving a 11
message from the Governor as to the State of the State; and12

       WHEREAS,  The members of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, 13
by adoption of the Resolution, call for a committee of nine on the 14
part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part of the 15
Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor in anticipation 16
of his State of the State Address, March 8, 2011 at 12:00 o'clock 17
p.m.; and18

       WHEREAS, It is a tradition of courtesy for the Ohio General 19
Assembly to appoint a committee to wait upon the Governor; 20
therefore be it21

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly 22
of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, authorize a joint convention 23
of the legislature to be held in the House Chambers of the Ohio 24
Statehouse, Columbus, March 8, 2011 at 12:00 o'clock p.m., for the 25
purpose of welcoming the Governor, the Honorable John Kasich, and 26
receiving his message on the State of the State; and be it further27

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 129th General Assembly 28
of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, call for a committee of nine 29
on the part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part 30
of the Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor; and be it 31
further32

       RESOLVED, That the rules and customs of the House shall be 33
observed during the use of the House Chambers; and be it further34

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 35
transmit duly authenticated copies of this Resolution to Governor 36
John Kasich and to the news media of Ohio.37
