| Relative to the appointment of Troy Balderson, to fill | 1 |
| the vacancy in the membership of the Senate | 2 |
| created by the resignation of Jimmy Stewart of the | 3 |
| 20th Senatorial District. | 4 |
| WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article II, Ohio Constitution, | 5 |
| provides for the filling of a vacancy in the Senate by appointment | 6 |
| by the members of the Senate who are affiliated with the same | 7 |
| political party as the person last elected to the seat which has | 8 |
| become vacant; and | 9 |
| WHEREAS, Jimmy Stewart of the 20th Senatorial District has | 10 |
| resigned as a member of the Senate effective June 30, 2011, thus | 11 |
| creating a vacancy in the Senate; now therefore be it | 12 |
| RESOLVED, By the members of the Senate who are affiliated | 13 |
| with the Republican party, that Troy Balderson (Republican), having | 14 |
| the qualifications set forth in the Ohio Constitution and the laws | 15 |
| of Ohio to be a member of the Senate from the 20th Senatorial | 16 |
| District is hereby appointed, pursuant to Section 11 of Article | 17 |
| II, Ohio Constitution, as a member of the Senate from the 20th | 18 |
| Senatorial District, to fill the vacancy created by Jimmy Stewart; | 19 |
| and be it further | 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the | 21 |
| journal of the Senate together with the yeas and nays of the | 22 |
| members of the Senate affiliated with the Republican party voting | 23 |
| on the Resolution, and that the Clerk of the Senate shall certify | 24 |
| the Resolution and the vote on its adoption to the Secretary of | 25 |
