A RESOLUTION
In memory of Carl Henry Lindner, Jr.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Carl Henry Lindner, Jr., on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and

       WHEREAS,  Although there are no words to ease the sadness now felt, surely there is solace in having been touched by such an outstanding person as Carl Lindner. His compassion and understanding will long remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him, including his three sons, Carl, Craig, and Keith, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

       WHEREAS,  Carl Lindner's zealous love of life and his selfless concern for the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human being and a leading citizen. A business pioneer and dedicated philanthropist, he expanded his father's dairy business to become the ice cream and convenience store chain known today as United Dairy Farmers, served as chairman of the American Financial Group, Inc., and purchased many Cincinnati-based companies, and he demonstrated an unwa­vering commitment to his profession, leaving a legacy that will surely live on; and

       WHEREAS,  In addition, Carl Lindner received a number of honors and awards over the years. Giving generously of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, he was tireless in his efforts to better the world around him; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the memory of a truly honorable man, Carl Henry Lindner, Jr.; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Carl Henry Lindner, Jr.
