| Honoring Jackie Shafer on her retirement from OGT. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jackie Shafer on the memorable occasion of her retirement from Ohio Government Telecommunications; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished career with Ohio Government Telecommunications, Jackie Shafer has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing her duties and fulfilling her responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. Commencing her tenure as the first Legislative Service Commission intern to OGT, she has since mentored every LSC fellow and intern, and she advanced to become the production manager. Over the years, she has established procedures and policies for OGT's coverage of the legislature, coordinated media access for all major events at the State House, developed numerous programs on Ohio civics and public affairs, created the Ladies Gallery website, and directed the coverage of hundreds of Senate sessions and the State of the State addresses for the past three governors; and |
| WHEREAS, Jackie Shafer is a remarkable individual, combining civic concern with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in her field. Always sincere and energetic in her approach to her work, she has given generously of her time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and |
| WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and expertise Jackie Shafer has shown in her endeavors have earned her the respect of all those with whom she has been associated. As she retires, she has the satisfaction of knowing that she has provided a valuable service to the State of Ohio and has established a record of personal and professional achievement that will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Jackie Shafer on her retirement and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jackie Shafer. |
