WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Abby Johnston on winning a silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized diving event at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, England; and |
WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Abby Johnston has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in synchronized diving, and as a result, she and her partner, Kelci Bryant, scored 321.9 points to win a silver medal in the 3-meter competition at this year's Summer Olympics; and |
WHEREAS, Abby Johnston's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, Drew Johansen, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
WHEREAS, Despite sometimes grueling pressure, Abby Johnston has consistently maintained her composure and morale, exhibiting strength and stamina in every challenging encounter. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating her unflagging determination, and she has set an example for others to emulate; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Abby Johnston on her personal success and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Abby Johnston. |
