A JOINT RESOLUTION

Authorizing a joint session of the Ohio General 1
Assembly to meet at the Crouse Performance Hall at 2
the Lima Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention 3
Center in Lima, Ohio, for the purpose of receiving 4
a message from the Governor and calling for a 5
committee to wait upon the Governor in 6
anticipation of his State of the State Address. 7

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       WHEREAS,  The members of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, 8
by adoption of this resolution, call for a joint session of the 9
legislature, to be held at the Crouse Performance Hall at the Lima 10
Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center at 7 Town Square, 11
Lima, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 6:30 o'clock p.m.; and 12

       WHEREAS, The Ohio General Assembly annually convenes a joint 13
session of the House and Senate for the purpose of receiving a 14
message from the Governor as to the State of the State; and 15

       WHEREAS,  The members of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, 16
by adoption of the resolution, call for a committee of nine on the 17
part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part of the 18
Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor in anticipation 19
of his State of the State Address, February 19, 2013, at 6:30 20
o'clock p.m.; and 21

       WHEREAS, It is a tradition of courtesy for the Ohio General 22
Assembly to appoint a committee to wait upon the Governor; 23
therefore be it 24

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 130th General Assembly 25
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, authorize a joint session of 26
the legislature to be held at the Crouse Performance Hall at the 27
Lima Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center at 7 Town 28
Square, Lima, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 6:30 o'clock p.m., 29
for the purpose of welcoming the Governor, the Honorable John 30
Kasich, and receiving his message on the State of the State; and 31
be it further 32

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 130th General Assembly 33
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, call for a committee of nine 34
on the part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part 35
of the Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor; and be it 36
further 37

       RESOLVED, That the rules and customs of the House shall be 38
observed during the joint session; and be it further 39

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 40
transmit duly authenticated copies of this resolution to Governor 41
John Kasich and to the news media of Ohio. 42
