A RESOLUTION
Honoring Margo Geer as a 2013 NCAA Swimming Champion.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Margo Geer on winning the 100-meter and 50-meter freestyle events at the 2013 National Collegiate Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships; and

       WHEREAS,  A student at the University of Arizona, Margo Geer has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won the 100-meter freestyle event with a time of 47.19 seconds, won the 50-meter freestyle event, and helped the 400-meter freestyle relay team finish second at this year's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships; and 

       WHEREAS,  Margo Geer's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Margo Geer on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience that she has gained through her participation in sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Margo Geer for outstanding achievement and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Margo Geer.
