| Honoring Sydney Lofquist as a 2013 Division II State Swimming Champion. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Sydney Lofquist on winning the 2013 Division II State Championship in the 200-yard individual medley; and |
| WHEREAS, A sophomore at Oakwood High School, Sydney Lofquist has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won first place in the 200-yard individual medley event with a time of 2:01.03, setting a new state record, as well as second place in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 4:54.11 at this year's Division II State Championship meet; and |
| WHEREAS, Sydney Lofquist's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, Jen Jervis, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Sydney Lofquist on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in swimming will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Sydney Lofquist on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further |
