| Honoring Fred Marquinez as the 2012 Ohio Master Lifter of the Year. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Fred Marquinez on being named the 2012 Ohio Master Lifter of the Year at the Ohio Weightlifting Championships; and |
| WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Fred Marquinez has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in weightlifting, and during 2012, he placed first in his age and weight class at the Ohio Weightlifting Championships, second at the National Masters Weightlifting Championships, and fourth at the World Weightlifting Championships, accumulating enough points to be selected as the 2012 Ohio Master Lifter of the Year; and |
| WHEREAS, Fred Marquinez's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the development of role models for our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Fred Marquinez. Indeed, the same responsibility and experience he has gained through his participation in weightlifting will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Fred Marquinez on his recent accolade and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Fred Marquinez. |
