A RESOLUTION
Honoring The Ohio State University marching band for its contributions to the State of Ohio.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to The Ohio State University marching band on its international attention; and

       WHEREAS,  Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the members of The Ohio State University marching band have displayed exceptional musical ability, remarkable confidence, and tremendous discipline, and as a result, their halftime shows from the 2013 season have received more than forty million views on YouTube and been featured on more than one thousand media outlets around the world, reaching a global audience of more than six billion people. In addition, the band was shown in an international television commercial for the Apple iPad, and its students volunteered more than five thousand hours of community service locally and statewide during the season; and

       WHEREAS,  The Ohio State University marching band has earned a level of respect and recognition of which the members, directors, and staff can be proud. The band's unique accomplishments during the 2013 season certainly reflect positively on the State of Ohio; and

       WHEREAS,  Over the years, The Ohio State University marching band has excelled in its endeavors, and all those who have been involved with the program are to be commended. Under the capable guidance of its director, Jon Waters, this talented group has become known as one of the finest collegiate bands in the nation, and it is deserving of high praise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud The Ohio State University marching band on its tremendous success and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University marching band.
