| Honoring Ben Campbell on receiving the Congressional Medal of Bravery. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Ben Campbell on being presented with a Congressional Medal of Bravery; and |
| WHEREAS, Ben Campbell is, indeed, deserving of high praise, for he has combined civic concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in the field of law enforcement. A member of the Copley Police Department for more than twenty years, he was on duty on August 7, 2011, when he responded to a call of shots fired in a local neighborhood, and despite not having backup, he successfully ended a dangerous situation. For his heroic actions, he was one of the Top Cops recognized by President Barack Obama in 2012; and |
| WHEREAS, Fulfilling his myriad duties with the utmost efficiency and competence, Ben Campbell has given willingly of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, and he has certainly distinguished himself as a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan. The Congressional Medal of Bravery is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his supervisors, his department, and the entire Copley community, and we applaud him on his exemplary efforts; and |
| WHEREAS, At a time when many people are content to take a passive role in life, Ben Campbell has chosen a vocation through which he has often risked his own safety to ensure the well-being of his fellow citizens, and his enthusiasm and devotion to duty have earned him the respect and gratitude of his peers and of the community he has so capably served; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Ben Campbell for outstanding accomplishment and salute him as one of Ohio's finest law enforcement officers; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ben Campbell. |
