A RESOLUTION
Honoring Merestead Farms on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Merestead Farms on its Two Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated August 6, 2014; and

       WHEREAS,  This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to Merestead Farms, for it has been in existence for two hundred years. Previously called Forest Farm, it was purchased by John and Mary Ella Beese a century ago and renamed Merestead Farms, and the operation is now under the ownership of John and Lee Beese, who raise Murray Gray cattle; and 

       WHEREAS,  The dedication of the Beese Family to the highest ideals of agricultural stewardship has earned them the respect and appreciation of the entire community. We applaud them on their tremendous efforts; and

       WHEREAS,  Agriculture is the backbone of this state's economy, and it is truly encouraging to know that the future of Ohio agriculture lies, to a large extent, in the capable hands of conscientious individuals such as John and Lee Beese. We are certain that in the years to come, Merestead Farms will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which it has become known; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Merestead Farms on its anniversary and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Merestead Farms.
