A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jordan Porter as a 2014 Division II State Track and Field Champion.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Jordan Porter on winning the 2014 Division II State Championship in the discus; and

       WHEREAS,  A senior at Chesapeake High School, Jordan Porter has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in track and field, and as a result, she won first place in the discus with a throw of 137 feet, 8 inches and fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 43 feet, .5 inches at this year's Division II State Meet; and 

       WHEREAS,  Jordan Porter's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Jordan Porter on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Jordan Porter on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jordan Porter.
