| Honoring the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team on winning the 2013 NCCAA Division II Tournament. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team as the 2013 National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Coach Tony Stockman and his assistant, Jamey Batten, the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated play of its members. Throughout the season, each player worked diligently to improve his skills on the hardwood, and as a result, the Trailblazers defeated a tough Arlington Baptist team by a score of 73-62 to win the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Championship, the school's first such title, and completed the season with a tremendous 22-0 record; and |
| WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined squad, the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team has developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill on the basketball court is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the superb coaching of their mentors, Tony Stockman and Jamey Batten; and |
| WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, teamwork, and a positive attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Ohio Christian University men's basketball team on its exceptional 2012-2013 season and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
