A JOINT RESOLUTION

Authorizing a joint session of the Ohio General 1
Assembly to meet at the Medina Performing Arts 2
Center in Medina, Ohio, for the purpose of 3
receiving a message from the Governor and calling 4
for a committee to wait upon the Governor in 5
anticipation of his State of the State Address. 6

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

       WHEREAS, The members of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, 7
by adoption of this resolution, call for a joint session of the 8
legislature, to be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center at 9
851 Weymouth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256, on Monday, February 24, 10
2014, at 7:00 o'clock p.m.; and 11

       WHEREAS, The Ohio General Assembly annually convenes a joint 12
session of the House of Representatives and Senate for the purpose 13
of receiving a message from the Governor as to the State of the 14
State; and 15

       WHEREAS, The members of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, 16
by adoption of this resolution, call for a committee of nine on 17
the part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part of 18
the Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor in 19
anticipation of his State of the State Address, February 24, 2014, 20
at 7:00 o'clock p.m.; and 21

       WHEREAS, It is a tradition of courtesy for the Ohio General 22
Assembly to appoint a committee to wait upon the Governor; 23
therefore be it 24

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 130th General Assembly 25
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, authorize a joint session of 26
the legislature to be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center at 27
851 Weymouth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256, on Monday, February 24, 28
2014, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of welcoming the 29
Governor, the Honorable John Kasich, and receiving his message on 30
the State of the State; and be it further 31

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the 130th General Assembly 32
of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, call for a committee of nine 33
on the part of the House of Representatives and eight on the part 34
of the Senate to be appointed to wait upon the Governor; and be it 35
further 36

       RESOLVED, That the rules and customs of the House of 37
Representatives shall be observed during the joint session; and be 38
it further 39

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit duly 40
authenticated copies of this resolution to Governor John Kasich 41
and to the news media of Ohio. 42
