| Honoring James M. Petro on his retirement from the Ohio Board of Regents. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to James M. Petro on his retirement as chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents; and |
| WHEREAS, Diligent and painstaking in all his endeavors, Jim Petro has achieved a noteworthy record of service as chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents by ably fulfilling his myriad responsibilities and distinguishing himself as an outstanding individual. Indeed, he has brought to his position a wealth of experience gained in such roles as a lawyer in private practice, an assistant director of law for the City of Cleveland, a prosecutor, member of council, and director of law for the City of Rocky River, a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, a commissioner for Cuyahoga County, and an auditor and attorney general for the State of Ohio. Displaying sound judgment, a stellar work ethic, and valuable job skills, he has shown a sincere commitment to serving the office in an efficient and professional manner; and |
| WHEREAS, In many significant endeavors, Jim Petro has given generously of his time and abilities far beyond what was required or expected. As chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents, he has become a dynamic force for higher education in our state; and |
| WHEREAS, To his credit, Jim Petro has shown how very much a conscientious, industrious person can accomplish, and he can be proud that his unflagging dedication to his job has inspired many who know him to devote themselves similarly. In the wake of his retirement, he has the satisfaction of knowing that his contributions will not be forgotten and that he will be sorely missed; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud James M. Petro on his exemplary service and wish him happiness and fulfillment in the years to come; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to James M. Petro. |
