Honoring Samuel Prakel on winning two 2013 Division II State track and field championships. |
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Samuel Prakel as the 2013 Division II State champion in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs; and |
WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and dedication as a senior member of the Versailles High School track and field team, Samuel Prakel has certainly distinguished himself as one of the most talented runners in the State of Ohio. At this year's Division II State meet, he won first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.32 and the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:14.00, and he also helped his team place third in the 4x800-meter and 4x400-meter relay events; and |
WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than running, and athletes such as Samuel Prakel exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and preparation, he has consistently shown the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and |
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Samuel Prakel on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience that he has gained through his participation in sports will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Samuel Prakel as a two-time 2013 Division II State Track and Field Champion and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Samuel Prakel. |
