| Honoring the Versailles High School girls track and field team as the Division III State Champion. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Versailles High School girls track and field team on winning the 2013 Division III State Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, Unsurpassed in energy, enthusiasm, and dedication, the Versailles High School girls track and field team gave a brilliant performance at this year's Division III State Tournament, winning first place in the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays and second place in the 4x200-meter relays to secure first place overall, and its impressive finish signifies tremendous accomplishment. These young athletes devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to be in peak physical condition, and under the pressures of competition, they rose to the occasion with a truly exceptional team effort. It is not surprising that their victory has won them a host of admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Versailles High School girls track and field team have amply proven themselves to be passionate, determined, and tenacious in their pursuit of victory. Their thorough preparation was evident at every point in the contest, and they merit praise for their triumph in the face of stiff opposition; and |
| WHEREAS, The Versailles High School girls track and field team has exemplified the qualities necessary for excellence in sports, including strength, stamina, agility, and perseverance. Through their participation in athletic competition, these fine students have learned lessons of hard work and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Versailles High School girls track and field team on its tremendous 2013 season and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Versailles High School girls track and field team. |
