| Honoring Pernorse Hodo on his One Hundredth Birthday. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Pernorse Hodo on the memorable occasion of his One Hundredth Birthday, December 1, 2013; and |
| WHEREAS, Pernorse Hodo's birthday serves as a reminder of the love and affection that his family and friends have for him, and it is also a time when he can reflect on the many and varied events of his life and take pride in his accomplishments and in his contributions to the community. Among his endeavors, he is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, an ore bridge operator retired from Republic Steel, and a member of the Sharp Shooter Hunting Club, Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Shad Club 7, and Shiloh Baptist Church, and as he celebrates his birthday, he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has set an example of service and achievement worthy of emulation; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout the past one hundred years, Pernorse Hodo has witnessed from a unique vantage point the dynamic growth that our country has undergone. Certainly, his life has been filled with many richly rewarding experiences, for he has lived through social and technological changes that have had a profound effect on the course of our nation's history and development; and |
| WHEREAS, Willingly sharing his time, energy, and abilities with his family, friends, and neighbors, Pernorse Hodo has clearly shown the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and he has enriched the lives of everyone who has known him over the years, including his wife, the late Aundria, his daughter, Barbara, and his three grandchildren, Jesse, Demetria, and Daniel. Diligent and painstaking in all of his endeavors, he has always used his talents to the benefit of those around him, and he is, indeed, deserving of high praise; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Pernorse Hodo on his One Hundredth Birthday and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Pernorse Hodo. |
