| Honoring the Lapp Farm as an Ohio Century Farm. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Lapp Farm on being named an Ohio Century Farm by the Ohio Department of Agriculture; and |
| WHEREAS, This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to the Lapp Farm, for it has been in continuous ownership by the same family for at least one hundred years. Benajah Spragg purchased 50 acres in 1849, and the operation has since expanded to nearly 950 acres. Now under the ownership of the sixth generation, Larry Lapp, who is assisted by his son, Lee, and grandson, Garrett, the farm raises cattle and grows corn, soybeans, and hay; and |
| WHEREAS, The dedication of the Lapp family to the highest ideals of agricultural stewardship has earned them the respect and appreciation of the Adamsville community. We applaud them on their tremendous efforts; and |
| WHEREAS, Agriculture is the backbone of this state's economy, and it is truly encouraging to know that the future of Ohio agriculture lies, to a large extent, in the capable hands of conscientious individuals such as the members of the Lapp family. We are certain that in the years to come, the Lapp Farm will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which it has become known; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Lapp Farm on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lapp Farm. |
