| Honoring the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America on its One Hundredth Anniversary. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America on its One Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated May 16-18, 2014; and |
| WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America has helped numerous boys to prepare themselves for meaningful and productive roles in society through adherence to such principles as trustworthiness, leadership, and initiative. As the members and leaders of the council commemorate its Centennial, they have the opportunity to reaffirm their goals and to formulate new policies to meet the challenges of the future; and |
| WHEREAS, Willingly giving of their time, energy, and abilities, all those associated with the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America have worked tirelessly to better the world around them. We are proud to note that it is through the diligent efforts of conscientious individuals such as these that Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; and |
| WHEREAS, Scouting combines the wisdom and leadership of adults with the enthusiasm and optimism of youth so that our young people will be better prepared for the years to come. The continued participation of the Great Trail Council in the Scouting program is further assurance that Scouts will receive the guidance and understanding that will encourage them to strive for excellence; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America on one hundred years of service and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America. |
