A RESOLUTION
In memory of Dr. Edward Emmett Corbett, Jr.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio offer our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family and many friends of Dr. Edward Emmett Corbett, Jr., on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and

       WHEREAS, Although there are no words to ease the sadness now felt, surely there is solace in having been touched by such an outstanding person as Edward Corbett. The love, compassion, and understanding that he so readily extended to others will long remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him; and

       WHEREAS, Edward Corbett left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he touched, and he will long be remembered as a spirited individual who contributed immeasurably to the world around him. The superintendent at the Ohio School for the Deaf from 1990 to 2010, he previously served as a teacher at the Louisiana School for the Deaf, and he demonstrated an unwa­vering commitment to his profession--a legacy that will surely live on; and

       WHEREAS, Edward Corbett's concern for improving the quality of life in our society was clearly evident. Giving generously of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Edward Corbett displayed exceptional concern and insight and was tireless in his efforts to better the world around him; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the memory of a truly honorable man, Dr. Edward Emmett Corbett, Jr.; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Dr. Edward Emmett Corbett, Jr.
