A RESOLUTION
Honoring Sam Gross on winning the 2014 Division III State Wrestling Championship.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Sam Gross as the 2014 Division III State Wrestling Champion in the 132-pound weight class; and

       WHEREAS, Sam Gross' accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for he has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as a wrestler. A senior member of the Beachwood High School wrestling team, he won this year's Division III State Wrestling Championship in the 132-pound weight class, and he was named the 2013 Sid Luckman Outstanding Jewish High School Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. He has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, and we applaud him for his athleticism; and

       WHEREAS, By developing such remarkable prowess as a wrestler, Sam Gross has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. His outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and he has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of endeavor; and

       WHEREAS, Wrestling is a sport that requires exceptional strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Sam Gross is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has certainly distinguished himself as a true champion; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Sam Gross on his recent distinctions and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sam Gross.
