| Honoring the Grove City High School marching band as the 2012 Fiesta Bowl National Parade Grand Champion and Championship Grand Master. |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Grove City High School marching band on it success at the 2012 Fiesta Bowl Parade and Band Championship; and |
| WHEREAS, A talented group of young people, the Grove City High School marching band has certainly set an example worthy of emulation. Under the able direction of George Edge, the group received six awards, including National Grand Champion for the parade contest and National Championship Grand Master for the field competition at the 2012 Fiesta Bowl, and it has earned a level of respect and recognition of which its members, both past and present, can be proud; and |
| WHEREAS, The Grove City High School marching band has achieved the balance, blend, and harmony that are the hallmarks of superior performance. George Edge has not only encouraged his musicians to develop their talents to the fullest but has also instilled within them an appreciation of music that will benefit them throughout their lives; and |
| WHEREAS, Music is an integral component of our heritage, helping people to communicate across national, cultural, and social barriers, as well as uniting performers and audiences in a meaningful, shared experience. The members of Grove City High School marching band have imparted the richness and beauty of music to citizens throughout the area, and they are deserving of recognition; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Grove City High School marching band on its exemplary achievements and salute the students and director as fine Ohioans; and be it further |
| RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Grove City High School marching band. |
